    I had similar issues running oscam & cross epg auto update where the epg did not load & oscam crashed, the easiest way round it is to set the box to reboot just after the epg update or just update the epg manually. Its not like the cross epg needs updating daily anyway.

    This is a complete minimal-configuration of oscam running on a Dreambox.
    Oscam is reading the card from internal reader
    Oscam is also decrypting the channels using the built-in softcam “dvbapi”.
    Oscam even updates the card using these settings.
    No other softcam necessary!

    All you’ve got to do is CHANGE THE CAID(cardID) AND IDENT(Providers)
    in the reader (in oscam.server) to match your card.
    You can find an overview of cards and their providers here: http://www.streamboard.tv/oscam/wiki/CardsList

    This is a basic configuration which runs out of the box:

    Oscam.conf

    Oscam.server

    Code
    [reader]
    label = SRG
    Protocol = internal
    detect = CD
    device = /dev/sci0
    Group = 1
    EMMCache = 1,3,2
    CAID = 0500
    ident = 0500:023800

    Oscam.user

    Code
    [account]
    user = user
    pwd = pass
    group = 1
    au = SRG

    MANY MANY MANY other functions can be added to this configuration to enhance or add features.

    If you’d like to share your card, you have to add server-processes in oscam.conf,
    like a newcamd-protocol-server or cccam-protocol-server or other protocol server.
    Doing so, different remote cardservers or softcams like oscam, cccam, newcs,…
    are allowed to connect using the corresponding protocols.
    Then add accounts in oscam.user so that our oscam accepts connections
    from these remotes.

    If you want to connect to remote cardservers, you have to add readers in oscam.server,
    like newcamd-protocol connections or cccam-protocol connections or other protocol connections.
    Doing so, your oscam reads cards from remote cardservers or softcams like oscam, cccam, newcs,…
    using the corresponding protocols.

    For more information it’s strongly recommended to read the documentation
    which came with oscam or read the always up-to-date documentation here: http://streamboard.gmc.to/svn/…unk/Distribution/doc/txt/
    And configuration examples here: http://streamboard.gmc.to/svn/…Distribution/doc/example/

    Re dreamup I can use to flash because It gives me no error found 2nd stage bootloader I will test several other dreamup thank you anyway for trying to help me.

    bip_bip this version of dreamup is made for fixing no ca error but you must use serial cable only & follow the instructions supplied with the programme.

    Here's a tutorial to setup the smargo.

    Here's how to get it working.

    Requirements ...

    DM7025 / DM800 / DM8000 / DM7020
    Smargo Smartreader+ -

    Software Tools - Download _http://www.dreamboxtutorials.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9&stc=1&d=1221768642
    Latest Gemini GP2 Image or Nabilo Image.

    Unpack the tools zip file to somewhere useful.
    Plug the smargo into a USB port on your PC.
    Windows will detect the new device.
    Do a manual drivers install , pointing to the Drivers_Windows folder.
    It will prompt for drivers for the USB device , then again for the serial device. OK, once the drivers are installed we're ready to go.

    Ok, lets go.

    Make sure the smargo is plugged into the PC with NO viewing card in it.

    Firstly, we need to check the smargo firmware version, so run the SmartreaderUpdate.exe

    If the firmware is v1.3 it will say so in the status bar at the bottom of the window and you can close this util, if not, click the update button and it will apply the update.

    Now we need to put the smargo in the correct mode to run directly in the Dreambox. So run the Smartreader.exe and change the kernel settings to Dreambox and click Apply.

    Ok, so now your done with the Smargo setup tools.

    Move to the dreambox now.

    GEMINI 2 IMAGE ...
    Go to the blue panel, and select Extras / Settings , then select Kernel Modules.
    Enabled the 'USB Cardreader FTDI' option. I think a reboot is required after enabling this.

    Ok , lastly lets edit the CCcam.cfg to suit our new reader.
    Simply add the following line

    Code
    SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+

    NABILO IMAGE ...

    Install the appropriate driver from this zip file. It contains Nabilo packaged drivers for the DM7025 / 800 / 8000. Ftp the correct file to /tmp and then go to the Green Panel, then addons. Select manual install of nab.tgz files. You should now see the file you FTP'd in the list. Simply select it and confirm to install.

    Thanks to sonic1, ( I missed this part out.)
    Edit the file /etc/init.d/bootup

    you add:

    echo 90 > /proc/progress
    modprobe ftdi_sio

    Restart enigma 2

    Again, edit the CCcam.cfg to suit our new reader.

    Code
    SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+

    Enigma 1 DM7020

    The smargo software package I've included does include a driver for the DM7020. This can be applied via telnet quite easily. Again, FTP the 2 drivers to /tmp and make sure you Chmod them to 755. Failure to do this will halt the install of these drivers. Then in a telnet session enter the following.

    Code
    ipkg install /tmp/kernel-module-ftdi-sio_2.6.9-r9_dm7020.ipk
    ipkg install /tmp/kernel-module-usbserial_2.6.9-r9_dm7020.ipk

    Obviously , same applies , add the CCcam.cfg line

    Code
    SERIAL READER : /dev/usb/tts/0 smartreader+

    Edit the file bootup in the folder /ect/init.d

    you add:

    Code
    echo 90 > /proc/progress
    modprobe ftdi_sio

    Restart enigma 2

    Then if you wish to change the clock frequency you need to add this line:-
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttsUSB0 XXX0000

    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/ttsUSB0 6800000 [ Tested and working on UK NDS2 CARDS ONLY ]

    Thats it guys, enjoy the smargo !

    Thanks to B16MCC

    It sounds like the patched dreamup is doing its job but you are trying to flash an incompatible image, Try another image using serial mode only.
