PurE2 General Setup
gorski
A grab-bag of useful PurE2 setup tips — covering the graphical EPG, the Estuary skin, the weather plugin, remote-button setup, FNC plugins and on-screen OSCam info.
About this setup
These notes are based on a static dish arrangement (a T90 plus one more dish for 30°W), with 12 QUAD LNBs and 4 × DiSEqC switches (DiSEqC v1.1).
Tip: when mounting USB devices, restart from the second option rather than from fstab.

PiG (Picture in Graphics)
PurE2 has PiG, found in MENU > Setup > System > EPG > Graphical EPG. It is a PiG (Picture in Graphics, as opposed to PiP):
Rather than a small, sharp picture of the channel, it sits more in the background — enough that you can keep listening while you browse and zap.
The Estuary skin
PurE2 uses the very flexible Estuary skin. Have a look at MENU > Plugins > Estuary (skin) config — everything from the main skin menu to the background and colours can be changed.
- Menu section > Menu Style — Icon Wall shows all options at a glance; you can also choose Shift, Shift Horizon, Verby or Standard.
- Background Wallpaper — pick whichever you like.
Weather plugin
Open the Weather plugin > OK > MENU button > yellow to edit, type your town's name, press yellow again to search for the code, choose it and save.
Remote button settings
These live in a few places:
- System > Keyboard/RC > Button setup — for example, set EPG to MultiEPG — plus Extra button setup for finer control.
- User Interface > UI Settings.
FNC plugins by Franc
PurE2 has a set of FNC plugins by Franc (such as IMDb-FNC), which have their own dedicated section on the forum.
OSCam info on screen
If you want a skin interface for OSCam, set it up in the skin config: Plugins > Estuary config > Infobar widget (ECM Info + PIDs).
You can also enable it via Setup > System > User Interface > UI > Show OSCam Info in extensions. To use it, on a normal TV channel press the blue button > OSCam Info > Setup > Read user, set the refresh interval (for example 10 seconds), then use the green button to confirm and Exit. Enjoy experimenting with it.
