  • …Depending on which bootloader currently installed on the box, the folder name must be adjusted accordingly. If there is still an old booltloader of the 1st generation on the box (boot display ET9000), then the folder must be called et9000. If a bootloader of the 2nd generation is already installed (recognizable by the boot display ET9X00), then the folder must be named accordingly et9x00. This has nothing to do with the version of the boot loader included in the installation folder! A second gen…

Adding new shortlink Firmware docs This shortlink launches my website at STB.You can download it from Downloads subpage on my website and flash by Bootloader / System Recovery Utility menu. As I've said, unfortunately this must be done by Bootloaders (USB method preferred), but any next upgrades should be available through STB settings. This image is available for all STBs expect MAG 420/424. Support for those STBs is planned soon. The second great news is that I've done a better and more …

  • … /media/hdd (for EPG, backups, etc) so no more need for USB sticks. For the new system to work properly, one has to have the latest sf8008/viper4k bootloader --> install the pure2 image via USB rescue mode. Otherwise, it is very likely that the bootloader will NOT recognize GPT partitions on the micro SD card The procedure is basically like this: Setup-->MultiBoot Maintenace-->InitSD card reboot From here on you could do FlashOn Line (change STARTUP to STARTUP_2 or _3) to flash another image to …

Flash the recovery image as needed per box (HD60 side button, H9combo front button) and try to have fun. Once the new x stage bootloader/recovery is flashed, you can flash the image. 2) USB reflash (not online) is needed as well to install new recovery. 6) There is a new mode to show a Zap History, now preset. • …Well I'm learning fast but admittedly still a newbie. I'm not sure what to call my IP, they are a very obscure/small outfit (conway.tv) that seem to have had a bit of a monopoly in some apartment developments. Being a newbie I don't know if I have a special bootloader
  • In short (and perhaps of not much good), I'm surprised that a legit IE IP did provide SH4 boxes by default. Nice:) If they do not have special bootloader, you should be fine with reflashing with any image. Try too google 'how to flash sab triple' and amiko alien2. Front panel buttons are not the same but the principle is.
  • Hi you might want to try reloading your previous image again , sounds like a bootloader problem that I had before. And also check the voltage on your power supply that plugs into the wall , make sure its supplying the proper voltage. :fingers crossed:
  • Nope, you should be ok with flashing the bootloader, but life would be very simple if this will solve the problem :) I hope it does.
  • Hi tromo, thanks for your reply. Capacitors seems to be good by visual inspection. I dont have equip to test them. So i will try to see if i can flash the bootloader. Is there a possibility of worsening the situation in this way? For now the front panel still works.
  • Which image and bootloader had before in receiver, and why you try to install so old and outdated SSL? I think for your sim 2.0.1, you have to find ssl 84b or ssl 84D, if I do not mistake.
  • hi all I need help I expose my problem I have a 800 hd clone sim 2.0.1 receiver by mistake I sent it in error again with blackhole secondstage 69 very dated now I can't bring it up with a recent image I did so many tests but nothing surely I'm wrong if you can help me please:plannedsomethingevil:
  • If I recall correctly, there are at least two possible reasons for this kind of error: - corrupt u-boot environment - bad capacitors (the ones under the card reader seem the 1st to go, but changing other big ones cannot hurt) - less likely: bad security chip, bad NOR chip In a case you can access the box via ttl/rs232 here is 8900 bootloader. u-boot-8900.zip
  • …i.e. "h9combo.zip". One will also see an Android partition - but we are still waiting for that OS to be published... Thanx to delfi for the procedure info!!! P.S. This recovery procedure is to be done only once, in order to install the secondary bootloader
  • Oh thank you for the awesome information here! As you said there is a RS232 indeed on the back and as you have mentioned it seems that I require the RS232 cable for sure to get it fixed. I did just check if my motherboard did have the RS232 but it seems like this is the only options I have (sorry for the big picture) So this is not looking very good on that side and also Idid check the USB-to-RS232 and here in Sweden they do take around 40-60$ for a converter like that, is that a normal price? • …ection method if you want to flash something into the box. Through the RS232 interface, it should be possible to load a new bootloader. You could do this with the "Dreambox NO CA FOUND Repair Tool NCF SIM2 v2.1" tool. Since I haven't done it yet, I won't tell you the exact procedure. Unfortunately, you have to search the internet. But be careful, it's no fun. On Google you will find many tutorials, as well as how to upload the bootloader
