The LCD means nothing, none of the image on the LCD is stored in the Sim card, it's stored on the ROM Bootloader in EPROM chip in box. So definitely you are not correct on this. Does your receiver go into "Stop" mode? If so, you can flash the bootloader. I'd strongly recommend you physically check what Sim card you have. Some have labels on the bottom of casing. If you open the box, be gentle, don't break the sim card holder.

Your receiver is for original image ( bootloader 84) as mine. At first, you find SSL 84 bootloader and install on your box, and restart. When install bootloader, you can install an image for original DM800SE.
