(Quote from aliensat) Hi, I have exactly the same problem (sorry, was my fault). ¿Is there a way of re-flash the same image without losing the configuration? By the way its seems that the update did not "update" the bootloader, so... Is there a workaround to fix the bootloader and make it load again the image? Thanks.

…em, it gets stuck on "Phase 2" after uploading the bootloader (whatever option for SIM 2.10 I choose...) The only software that is able to flash my box is Japhar Flasher version 1.1, but still I am unable to resolve it. Perhaps I have the wrong bootloader for SIM 2.10 or maybe the box says it's SIM 2.10 but it's not? I really wouldn't want to be forced to open the box to find out what SIm it has.... :-( I'm not shooting blind and I really wouldn't know what else to try. I'd appreciate some help,… -

So.....i got a new winbond chip and wrote bootloader to it and soldered back in, im back to where i was before, box is trying to flash but it goes to boot very quickly and doesnt boot up...just looping, im wondering is it possible to right the image directly to the chip, how would it be written to it??

The image must match whatever SSl / bootloader is on the receiver. If the receiver has SSL 84, you must flash an SSL 84 image. If the receiver has SSL 82 and you want to use an SSL 84 image, you must flash the SSL 84 bootloader first, then the image. You only need to flash the bootloader once, not everytime you change an image. Latest Secondstage Bootloader For DM800 Clone Sim 2.01 -
Most of this is way over my head, I've jtagged several Pace boxes in the past but not a Zgemma. I just thought that since you've now got the box in a state where you can flash it, perhaps you could flash the bootloader again by the conventional usb method? The PSU mentioned is also a good call. The later all in one plug PSU's don't seem to be as good as the earlier brick type ones and have a lower output. -
…n reflashing. (unless it is corrupted somehow - wrong bootloader, loss of power etc etc) The bootloader (amongst other jobs) handle's bad blocks within the nand chip. Bad blocks are parts of the nand that are corrupt and can not be used, so the bootloader will assign good blocks to be used instead. It is possible that the nand has bad blocks in a part of the chip that cant be reassigned elsewhere..... long story short...: If it were me.... i would replace the sop8 chip with a new exact same chip… -
(Quote from jenseneverest) :( ... i know what your saying, i do know this one works but it is a 16gb and takes hours to do a LLF....i bought a kingston 2gb flash drive but box wont even look at it...2gb flash drives on the high street are like rocking horse shite..any reccomendations...? dont suppose i could use a 2gb flash card in a usb adaptor ?

now im back to where i was before the bootloader troubles, just tried a stock image, same thing, with this one it comes up USB, i press power, its starts flsh then again it changes to boot back to usb..like its looping, all i get is the start up logos, the USB stick is fine...where is the image being flashed to ?..the winbond chip ?, seriously thinking of flashing the bootloader via usb again but that is the point at which i got the blank LCD and had to do all this chip programming.
