  • (Quote from jokosat) I never updated the bootloader when i made that backup, so i`m assuming you won`t need to either..
  • TKYOU I JUST HAVE THIS RECIEVER , I PUT BACK UP FROM MasterG do i need to update ssl bootloader ? tkyou
  • (Quote from jenseneverest) im not even setting up epg at all, (i also thought that was causing it) im leaving it disabled untill i diagnose the problem,, upto now its running fine with the downgraded bootloader, the components inside are hot to the touch but not hot enough not to touch if that makes sense. i guess im just going to have to run the box a few days and see what happens
  • (Quote from coopdog) Yes mate that is it... Strange one. Are you saving epg data to a hard drive or similar ? That is the only thing I can think of. The epg data may be filling up the internal flash especially over a 24hr period. Unless it is some sort of hardware fault or it's getting very hot.
  • openatv-5.3-zgemmas2s-20160806_usb Original ive also tried a few other originals with the same result, just cant get my head round it,, its not the image that seems to be the issue, its the bootloader whats getting stuck. just powered it on again with successful boot ********************************************** Just put PLI on and its booting fine,, im guessing this is the Bootloader info (see pic) https://www.dropbox.com/s/6cri…_20160827-192317.png?dl=0
  • (Quote from coopdog) What image you running? ?
  • ****please Note**** After 24 hours i turned off my ZGemma and it would not boot back up, exact same problem what i started with,, now i wired it back up to the development board and flashed the previous bootloader (lower version) it now boots up really fast and is performing like it should. ive been powering it off all day (by the socket) leaving it to cool and powering it back on. so far its good. im putting this update on just incase anyone else has the same issue that i had/having.

  • (Quote from coopdog) follow this: http://linuxsat-support.com/sh…3-Tutorial?highlight=jtag you have the connections already and instead of using the cloudboot.bin use the bootloader i linked you too earlier.
  • (Quote from coopdog) Thats fine mate, if you going to jtag you wont need rs232 only mini usb to usb, and the board, its easier than an xbox. Good luck
  • i never got chance to try the commands above, it happend after a 2nd time flashing the bootloader,, im getting nothing now, no flashing kingstone, no display,, no life only RED LED. ive orderd jTag board but i dont have a "true" RS232 interface,, i do have a com 2 USB and a old laptop with windows xp installed, using them both together has flashed every box ive come across yet.
  • (Quote from coopdog) How are you getting ssh ? Usually i do this via serial rs232 and putty.... Try this: download any image and unzip it copy kernel.BIN and rootfs to root (/) of USB stick insert USB to tuner start CFE console flash new image (Code, 3 lines)
  • yes i no,, ive flashed bootloader first (from link above,, LED flashes for about 5-7 secs ) then reformatted kingstone (fat32) and put on openatv original image,, the box will flash. (the LED flashes on kingstone for about 5-10 mins) ,,,, up on reboot , same. ive tryed every single image type from www.zgemma.tv with the same results. ***UPDATE**** STUCK ON RED LIGHT NOW AFTER ANOTHER ATTEMPT FLASHING BOOTLOADER
  • (Quote from coopdog) It was a 2 part part job mate, flash bootloader, it will onlt take a few seconds. then flash an openatv image from here: http://images.mynonpublic.com/…/index.php?open=zgemmas2s The image flash can take up to 10 minutes Also disconnect everything else other than usb stick and power cable when flashing.
  • still nothing after flashing bootloader (from the link above) tryed low level formatting sandisk and kingstone sticks,, both of which are giving me the same result, i have full acsess to the box via ssh and files via network on Pc (FTP dont work) just wont boot Gui
  • (Quote from coopdog) flash the bootloader first Then a openATV image. The log reports a USB stick error, change the USB stick.... See here: http://linuxsat-support.com/sh…Star-2S-amp-H1-Bootloader
