Problem flashing Amiko SHD8900 Alien

    Hey there, I am a new member and hope to learn from the members of the forum.

    I received this Alien Amiko (its my first receiver), which seems to load neither spark nor enigma.

    Front panel is responsive, so i tried to flash spark rescue v1.2.31 via usb stick.

    Result -> Now is stuck on spark logo with "IDENT Error - UNINITIATE!"

    If I try to boot Enigma, it loads the first screen and then keeps rebooting.

    What can I do to revive it?

    If I recall correctly, there are at least two possible reasons for this kind of error:


    - corrupt u-boot environment

    - bad capacitors (the ones under the card reader seem the 1st to go, but changing other big ones cannot hurt)

    - less likely: bad security chip, bad NOR chip


    In a case you can access the box via ttl/rs232 here is 8900 bootloader.

    Capacitors seems to be good by visual inspection. I dont have equip to test them. So i will try to see if i can flash the bootloader. Is there a possibility of worsening the situation in this way? For now the front panel still works.
