Yes, the location for the binary (mgcamd_1.38d) is usually /usr/bin, but may be different depending on the image used. You would also need to change the permissions / attributes on mgcamd_1.38d file to 755..

Thanks! Sorry to be a nuisance, there's 18 items in the usr/keys folder provided in zip. Do all of them need to be FTP'd?

just to update my previous post: having played around with all of them I found openvix and blackhole (super for xbmc) were by and far the most comprehensive and perhaps best in that sense.

VTI and Openpli images are great for novices who are after something reasonably straightforward and easy to setup. They provide a softcam feed as part of the image. Openatv, Opendroid and some of the others require you to know a little beyond the image itself in terms of where to find softcam collection on the net etc.

I went with OpenPli because it was the leanest and allowed me to setup quickly. crossepg on Openpli surprisingly wasn't straightforward but once I read that you need to use oe alliance ipk rather than version from plugin feed, it was trivial. Highly recommend any of those.

i've tried at least 10 of the images on this list. Can safely say OpenRSI the best: is the quickest and easiest to setup. Has a direct camfeed so your up and running in no time. Is also the most responsive.

OpenMIPS isn't easy to setup. Is difficult working out how to install and enable oscam. OpenVix Zeus quite awkward to use. Is very slow for the Quad and is difficult getting Oscam to work.

OpenATV is good but you need to have the cam addons handy to get everything working.

So if your after a self-sufficient image which is easy to use, quick to setup, quick and responsive generally too => OpenRSI all the way.

Hi, I found using.conf, .user, .provid, .srvid files alongside oscam.server ensured every version of oscam worked fine on zeus. Is temperamental without all those files. You certainly will have problems starting the oscam emu without a conf file.

hence use ALL those files, and you'll find everything works as you'd expect.
