i have a motorized dish with quad lnb, ive got my vu connected to it (2cables) and a dm800 in bedroom (2 cables but only use 1), all other boxes r connected to a octo lnb on a zone 2 *** dish, as u asked you would only b able to view channels from the satellite you turn to on the motor setup option...... in this case i think rigrat1 has the best answer, u are allowed 2 dishes up at once on your property, i think 1 is a *** dish and the other is up to 1meter. good luck with it all bud.

What a IPhone, Siri and PI can do!
found this video very interesting, as i have a rasp pi thought i would share with other rasp users enjoy
One creative individual has taken that into his own hands, after managing to hack Apple's voice assistant to open
and close his garage doors, control his thermostat and even work his TV.YouTube user Elvis Impersonator spent three days hacking Siri to do all that and more.
He says she (or he here in the UK) can open and close his garage, turn on his house alarm, control his lights and change the channel on his TV.
For the project he used a Raspberry Pi running SiriProxy, which listens to his iPhone and performs commands based on what it says.
The hacker said of the project:
"I spent countless nights dreaming of the day I could use voice commands to control my home, but I was still under a long term contract on my existing iPhone. I already had been experimenting with IP2IR control in various forms, but the controller I use in the video seemed to offer the most features which the manufacturer added a REST API in March 2012."
The whole project is open source, so you can head over to GitHub and download the code for your own use.

hello bud, poss could b the problem, the only way is to try it, thats exactly how mine is set up in my dm500 as i look now 3 emm written in cccam webinfo, and expiry in oscam webinfo is 30/3/2013.
its the second 1 in the 1.0.(1)that allows updates to card, like i said in my oscam webinfo all other boxes have AU OFF but that single one has AU on, u really only want 1 box sendings EMMS to update your card, there is a reason for this but ive forgotten (twat) lmao. but leave your box reading a premium channel ***1 or *** news/sports/movies take your pick wait a day or 2 and go from there all of a sudden they should start coming through. also just checking your reader config and i dont have blockemm-u = 0 blockemm-s = 0 in my reader dont no if they r needed or not, that is a qustion for a more advanced user than me for oscam.
cheers TG

hello brendan r u using a oscam cccam combo, dont no if this will relate to your problem or not, i use oscam and cccam 2.1.3, and i have no problems updating the card i use a single connection in cccam a box in my house, and it auto updates whenever its ready, in cccam i use this at the end of the c line C: 192.168.0.12 12000 example example 1 0 1 { 0:0:1 } and it works, also tried it as i saw it written on a tutorial 0.0.1 but i couldnt get the channels to clear, in oscam webinfo it says AU ON.... for the reader its using.
hope this helps havnt used oscam alone to update as cccam works for me, like i said hope this helps, if your using pure oscam i havnt tried that ATM,
good luck all the best TG

ahhhh that throws a bit of a spanner in the works then, all internals i can sort out no probs just my bro who i share with, he lives not far but far enough away for me to not bother lol..... it will have to b a teamviewer jobbie then lol.
so why does it ask for a cccam protocal if it only uses oscam? will i need to delete cccam from server completely? and will chacheex work on dm500scheers ten your a diamond
-
hello ten or anybody with knowledge of cacheex.
im following this tutorial, i no this is an oldish thread, i have debian server just updated to oscam r8142........in alices server under oscam config there is a line logfile = /path/to/your/oscaminstance.log, what am i looking for to find this instance on my server, i expect its a easy answer but being a noob to this cacheex stuff im not 100% sure. also im getting confused with the protocal i have oscam with cccam working perfect, does oscam have to use cccam to cacheex or can it be used oscam to oscam without affecting my share to cccam, if it can do i need the cccam info on the oscam filesany help would b appreciated
cheers TG

short answer is yes to your question..... i have a motorized dish setup on a south facing wall, i receive most satellites in that direction, 28.2 sly uk, 23e 19.2e 13e 16e 9e 7e 4.8e 0.8w and a couple more heading west, apart from sly uk the rest are FTA on other sats for me, but with a subscription opens up a world of channels. i have a 80cm dish and get those sats, but as musogeek says the bigger the dish the more sats you you pick up, and also precision set up is must!!!
check out the kingofsat or lyngsat (i think) websites has loads of information regarding what satellites and which channels those satellites recieve.good luck

i had the same problem not so long ago, found out it was a peer of mine hammering my card, check to see if 1 or more peers of yours are hammering ecm times, if there is 1 or a few with really high ecm times then thats what it could b, sometimes i would ave to reboot 5-6 times a day and other times 1-2 times a day, now ive deleted the line everything runs perfect.
i think cccam can run up to 25 peers b4 problems (mayb a mod can confirm this) 18 is alot and that could b the problem....
hope this helps in someway -
very good caz really enjoyed it i new hemp could b used for a few things but not that amount of things very impressive...... loved the old bird at 13.32 thought she was going to burn her face off........ or 21.56 im like that most days lol.
all joking aside good vid

on my motorized setup for vu duo i have tuner A set to usals and also tuner b set to 2nd cable from motorized dish, but there are other ways as mrgmx and mckee have said, and a few more different combos aswell.
but if you do move the motor on the satellite then you will lose signal to the tvs as it wont b pointing at 28.2e, if someone was watching the second box in another room they would lose signal aswell.hope this helps you a little bit bud
-
hello bud i have a vu duo brilliant bit of kit mate with a hd, never used it mind u lol............... i also have a dm800 hd no hd, my personal preference would b the duo, i love my dm, but i find the vu easier to use and has a massive support on the website (not that the dm doesnt), and it looks better aswell. most of the tools (programs i use) u can use on both, and to flash the image to a vu only takes bout 3 mins another 5 mins setting up and away u go. it might b better to let them have the dm as u no exactly how it works and u can show them easily, untill you have mastered the vu and then u can swap back if need be.
read through the forum all the answers there mate good luck -
yer there wont b any prob outside the network mate, for external connections, (example) C: bla bla.hopto.org 12000 mother inlaw but......... internal shares should be (example) C: 192.168.1.100 12000 mother inlaw.
change the above to suit your needs but the bla bla line wont work on internal shares bud
