    Hi guys,

I've finally managed to get HD streaming channels to work properly over WiFi using XBMC and all works really well until there are fast moving scenes. I would use it mostly for watching football so this would be ideal if there is some way of fixing this. I get horizontal scan type lines which appear on the screen during these fast moving scenes like when a long ball is played, or a shot is taken. It is quite sore on the eyes actually.

I have copied screenshots below to demonstrate this.

    Screen 1:
    9e94f858c986360d7.jpg
You can see from the above screenshot that the quality is absolutely brilliant.

    Screen 2:
    6b7b853682393a0996eba092f.jpg
As this scene involves speed and movement, you can see how blurry everything has become. Look at the players and you'll see the horizontal lines I was referring to earlier. Pretty horrid actually.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what might be causing this and if there is a way of fixing it? My eyes just can't get used to it!

    Thanks

If you have given up troubleshooting this problem, try tomato firmware... (I use toastman builds)
I find them to be better built with network speeds on a par with stock firmware..

OK so I've found out what the problem is now! The wiring from my router seems to be dodgy as I tried a different CAT6 connection and it has been perfect. Will need to rewire it properly but now I know what's caused it

I was interested in trying Tomato but it doesn't seem to be compatible with my TP-Link WDR3600 router. Tried both Open-WRT and DD-WRT. Found performance was much better on Stock firmware so may just revert back.

    Cheers!

Cheers. I've done exactly that and still the same problem. I've also done the following.

    - Ran the a constant ping from my router to my Solo 2 on one screen
    - Tailed the message logs on the other screen

Outcome: No packet loss at all from constant ping to Solo2 even when message log shows Link as down. This is weird.

Think I'll revert my router to stock again (it gives better Wifi performance anyway). OpenWRT was just a little experimental though I have no problems at all with any other devices on my network.

I think I just need to go through the process of elimination to make sure I don't have a faulty NIC on the Sol2 2 (though there is no packet loss when pinging from the t
    router??)

ANy suggestions very welcome. Thanks for the help so far!

    Hi guys,

I've just started using the OpenATV backup image by Ten Below and am having a strange network problem. While watching TV I noticed that the picture & sound was freezing for about 5-10 seconds every few minutes. I then checked /var/log/messages and found out what is causing this:

    Apr 6 14:34:58 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link up, 100 Mbps Full Duplex
    Apr 6 14:36:45 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link down
    Apr 6 14:37:00 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link up, 100 Mbps Full Duplex
    Apr 6 14:41:16 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link down
    Apr 6 14:41:30 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link up, 100 Mbps Full Duplex
    Apr 6 14:41:56 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link down
    Apr 6 14:42:10 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link up, 100 Mbps Full Duplex
    Apr 6 14:45:05 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link down
    Apr 6 14:45:20 vusolo2 user.info kernel: eth0: Link up, 100 Mbps Full Duplex

I tried assigning a static IP to my VU Plus Solo 2 but it has made no difference. MY router is running OpenWRT and there's nothing relevant in the router logs. Any ideas why my network would be disconnecting like this?

    Thanks!

I'm having a couple of strange problems with the tsmedia plugins and wondered if anyone can offer any advice?

First of all if I pause a movie while streaming and then un pause it. The movie plays fine but there's a black rectangle that appears at the top of the screen and it won't go away! This is so annoying.

I have selected the tsmedia player for playback. The default player doesnt work at all.

Also, when themain tsmedia menu appears, the bottom part of the text below each of the icons is missing.

Sorry if this had been posted in the wrong forum!

    Cheers
