    try command "$ usb-devices" instead and look at the Manufacturer for each usb port shown (I have seven ports shown on my box)… the TL-WN821N appears as follows

    T: Bus=04 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=480 MxCh= 0

    D: Ver= 2.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1

    P: Vendor=2357 ProdID=0107 Rev=02.00

    S: Manufacturer=Realtek

    S: Product=802.11n NIC

    S: SerialNumber=00e04c000001

    C: #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=500mA

    I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 5 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)

    thanks for the help… Another hint

    when i type # modinfo rtl8192*

    NN2 returns this

    modinfo: ERROR: Module rtl8192eu-linux-driver-master not found

    (actually i did a previous attempt following tutorials from the manufacturer to compile the driver on linux but i stopped the sequence as the tutorials were not meant to apply to NN2 environment…. i have been asked to issue a dkms command ! anyway… )

    Thanks…. The installation went well but my stick is still not recognized

    to the command # usb-devices i can read this is the usb N°5

    T: Bus=04 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=480 MxCh= 0

    D: Ver= 2.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1

    P: Vendor=2357 ProdID=0107 Rev=02.00

    S: Manufacturer=Realtek

    S: Product=802.11n NIC

    S: SerialNumber=00e04c000001

    C: #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=500mA

    I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 5 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)

    yet my usb is a TP-Link TL-821N and in TP-Link website the driver pack indicates clearly that the chipset is rtl8192eu thus my request…

    but as you can see there is still no driver attached to the stick ! : Driver=(none)

    is there a way of forcing NN2 to attach the installed driver to the usb device ? or any ther command that establish the association ?

    and btw if i issue the command # apt-get install kernel-module-rtl8192* …. i read this

    kernel-module-rtl8192c-common is already the newest version.

    kernel-module-rtl8192ce is already the newest version.

    kernel-module-rtl8192cu is already the newest version.

    0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

    but the driver rtl8192eu is not listed after the above install

    Hello

    I have an old DM8000HD (7 years +) running under Oscam with last setting vhannibal.

    I have observed since a couple of months that i cannot receive anymore some Astra FTA channels such as LCI, TV5 Monde ... all transmitted in DVB-S2 mode . However, i can receive very well other FTAs channels CNN Euronews etc... when transmitted in DVB-S

    when i observe the signal of LCI transponder for instance (12207 V 29700) the SNR level is lower than 30% and my DM couldn't lock the signal !

    Now i bought yesterday a cheap other receiver (SaghemCom Canal Ready) and i can receive LCI and all other channels with no problem and with same dish/lnb/cable installatio (the signal strength is shown with a very good quality)

    I do not understand this change of behaviour that apparently happens on DVB-S2 transmissions only. I tested this on both Tuners of my DM8000HD ... same problem

    Is it a tuner issue ? Anyone has an opinion ?

    On my PC i tried two VLC version 0.8.1 and 0.8.6 that i launched with " --intf wxwin --extraintf=http" argument, after having declared 8080 as streaming port
    On my DM8000, running Dream-Elite image of 19/03/2016, I downloaded VLC-Plugin and created a link to my local LAN PC server on port 8080

    There is no way to make VLC-plugin work ! when i click on the created link to the server i have an error message like " ... cannot load the file list, HTTP 501 ERROR : NOT IMPLEMENTED "
    Any hint on where i should go from here ?

    For reference,
    - i can connect to may PC server from my Dreambox through other means (media player, etc...)
    - i have already succeeded in the past to make VLC plugin work but under other images...

    Gents - just subscribed 2 days ago for Canalsat for one year and have been told afterwards that Oscam/DM8000 cannot read the card ! I have it inserted on Dev/sci0 and indeed got it activated OK 03-Aug-2016 but... BLACK SCREEN !

    1) Is there a config to read the card ? Here is what i have for now and that allowed the activation
    [reader]
    label = Canalsat
    protocol = internal
    device = /dev/sci0
    services = Canasal
    caid = 0500
    ecmwhitelist = 500
    detect = cd
    mhz = 500
    cardmhz = 357
    ident = 0500:032830
    group = 1
    emmcache = 1,3,15,0
    auprovid = 032830

    2) what other ways i have to read the card on a DM8000 (any softcam ? hardcam ? )

    I just tried "Picon" (only first letter Upper case)... no change

    the error message i have has this shape
    find : proc/577/task/838/fd/139 : No such file or Directory

    I have 5 or 6 of these and then the plugin freezes...

    I can't believe this is linked to whether you use a USB stick, hard disk or flash memory but i feel that if i can make this plugin work i will also come back to my manual stuff and it would work as well !
