If you want an image team to make changes to their image, the best place is on the home forum of that image.

The arguments for accessing the recovery menu from standby menu are unconvincing. If the receiver is stuck or not booting, you will never be able to access it using the remote control.

You can flash an image using image manager. You can also create an image backup using image manager.

DMM were closed source. So what they did is not a convincing factor when the OE-A images have functions that are open source and work on all the hardware the image team supports.

If people need to be economical with the truth to make their arguments, it's not going to be received well. Nor will it expedite matters.

Just for information, some LNBs have a weird fault which only occurs when multiple devices are connected to it. Might be worth trying to switch power off to the other receivers and then trying this one. (Deep sleep, not just standby)

The frequency ABM uses to gain data for Sky is the Sky transponder. For Freesat, ABM uses the Freesat transponder.

Check that you can receive those two transponder. In signal finder, change the transponder to match the ones in your picture.

What type of LNB do you have? Have you got any other TVs or receivers connected to the LNB? Have you got any splitters connected to it?

Can you please also check the F-plug on your cable.

    Good AB 28.2 is working.

Please stick to image for your receiver. Don't try images for a H7.

If you want to pursue the ABM issue, please answer the question asked about save button. I am sure you made a mistake. Debug log will confirm error. It wouldnt say anything about Freeview unless it was previously set to use it

The fix has been applied, it will be in next image build.

If you can't wait, you will have to get the python file are replace the one on receiver.

ViX 6.8 will be from OE-A 5.6 branch. That is in test mode. Current is 5.51.

You are giving mixed messages. Please be clearer. Firstly, you said your receiver was not seeing the tuner, but now you say it's not finding channels.

A manual scan, single satellite scan for 28.2 should find over 700 channels. So this is fine in terms of alignment.

Post a screenshot of menu, information, devices

The picture of the ABM failure shows it's failing on the Freeview provider. What mast is your aerial on you roof pointing to? What area have you set Freeview as in ABM?

You say you are in ROI, yet ABM is failing on Freeview UK. Did you click on Save after correcting the ABM providers?

Where did you download a VIX image for the H17 from? It's not listed on the ViX download site?

If a tuner is not visible, it's usually a hardware fault or driver issue. Or maybe a software issue.

Have you tried other images? If so, are they okay?

The crash has nothing to do with hardware. Someone else with a different receiver using ViX got the same crash. OBH and Vix share code, so probably why it crashed too. It has been fixed and you shouldn't have a problem on next image.

    Issue raised on Github:

    https://github.com/oe-alliance/oe-alliance-plugins/issues/870

Commit to fix crash on Vix:

    https://github.com/OpenViX/enigma2/commit/83d32522fce6a646b7ebd9b880abc0e448c625dc

There is a setting to preview EPG. So while watching channel A, you can select channel B and view what will be coming up. Once you finish browsing EPG for channel B, you return to what you were watching initially, i.e channel A.

The various EPG screens were primarily designed for browsing EPG. For selecting channels, there is the channel selection screens.

As usual, what doesn't help, is the usual mixing between bouquets and EPG. Epgimport will do nothing with channels/bouquets. It fetches EPG.

Please check whether you have the same problem with DVB channels.

Maybe Enigma2 has lost focus of what channel it's on. This is easily remedied by using the channel selection screen, once you have selected a couple of channels using the channel selection code, the EPG screens will follow. Press Up( next to OK) then blue to select Bouquet/Favourite. Or the TV button.

From which EPG screen are you selecting the channel? There are several EPG screens. Maybe post a picture?

Debug log may be more useful, but please ensure you delete any sensitive/private details.

It is fine to disagree, but please keep off the personal attacks and insults.

    For clarity...

Open multi boot is a plugin

    Barry Allen is a plugin

Some receivers have hardware multi boot, where the bootloader will allow users to select a partition to boot from. They have a bootloader to allow this

    Additionally, there is:

kexec multiboot - used for Vu+ receivers

chkroot multiboot - for the dream box, xtrend, and I think Octagon.

Both these last two require the function to be enabled in the kernel. So the base image that is flashed must include them. The Enigma2 in use must be coded to recognise the directories/partitions to enable booting into different images.

Official OpenPLi Enigma2/core code has not been adapted or chkroot yet. It is included in OE-A core code which is shared ATV and ViX have added code to their Enigma2.

In my experience OpenMultiBoot plugin is unreliable as you have one kernel on image in flash and code on running image being built for another. It seldom works with PLi in flash image.

PLI do not like booting from USB/external devices as in their experience, it is unreliable. OBH have no issues with it.

There are differences, we don't need to argue.

You can record two channels separately on the same transponder with any single tuner. Unless there is a plugin for it, there is no way to merge/playback two recordings as one.

On live view, you watch both channels simultaneously using Picture in Picture. A single tuner device capable of PIP will do this
