I'd recommend the A3. Had mine 2 years. Pretty straight forward to put a gift into oscam on the box.

To do a scan, hit the home key,hit the double left arrow to go across to system. click on advanced installation.
Click on 'satellite Tuner 1 configuration.
In the list ake sure the correct satellite (28.2E) is selected
Click red to scan
blind scan ON
mode ALL
Net NIT on
then press ok to scan.

Once scanned go back to the TV tab with the channel list hit menu then go to the right and select EDIT ALL.
Then you can remove the HD channels and any other channels you dont want.

To be honest, if you want Android get an Amiko A3 or Amiko A3 combo. the A3 is sat only and the combo is sat and cable.
They are well worth the extra cost. Only 'down sides' are no autobouquets and no sly skin.

I dont mind updating my channel list every now and again though, literally takes seconds.
( The A3 and A3 combo support importing enigma 2 channel lists )

The 'extras' keep the kids happy on their A3 in their rooms lol.
Mini wireless keyboard for £10 to use with the web browser, kodi gmail etc run perfectly.
Rechargeable remote, voice recognition, and the air mouse on the remote means the kids are forever playing candy crush etc lol

Lavatronics have restricted access to the downloads page to trade customers only now. Ridiculous.

The MINOR audio issue that happens now and again is nothing. you hit the home key then the back key and it's fixed. In my experience spark tends to crash when you're zapping channels too quickly over and over.

You dont add the cccam.cfg file you just open that file with notepad on your computer and enter the text from the file into oscam. Open oscam select config then select add, enter the text save and restart.

You're probably the one to advise me, how do i name picons? I'd like to add my own when they vanish instead of having to wait for
somebody to spend hours or days creating one and upload it somewhere.

Yes mate updating wont affect oscam. You should always update to the latest stable version when available as they contain improvements, bug fixes etc.

Your box should come with crossepg mate. You just have to set it up and you get a full 7 day epg.

You can make your own lists using dreamset and arrange the channels to suit.

No need to mess about converting files and ftp.
Open your CCcam.cfg file with notepad on your computer
Open Oscam app on the Amiko A3.
Press the RIGHT button to go across to the config tab.
Press the ADD button
Manually enter your details.
Save then you're done.

I use privateinternetaccess paid vpn.
Just download the android app to the box and login.
Works a treat.

Strange.Have you tried leaving it on a channel you're having an issue with for a few minutes?
Leave it on the channel for a few minutes and keep checking the epg see if it populates?

Does anybody know how to set a username and password for spark tv webserver? when i enter the ip in my laptop browser or my mobile i go straight to the page that i can control my box from.
At first i thought it was not asking for a username and password because i was connected to my network.
However i just connected with my mobile & i was'nt connected to my wifi i was using my phones data connection and it took me straight to the same page, no username or password was requested.

No, it is a single tuner receiver. You may be able to buy an extra usb tuner though i'm not sure

I'm wondering if theres a way to maybe activate the 7 day EPG. when you hit the EPG button on the remote the 7 days are there and you can scroll across, but they're all blank.
Only now and next show.

Now that the main issue is sorted, does anyone know how to go about getting a 7 day EPG? Not sure if there's one available.
The EPG on my £35 Openbox is better than the one currently on my A3
