My current cache folder is 'hdd/test' so the xbmc folder is generated in the root of the 'test' directory along with any downloads I do.
If I simply did a symlink to the test directory then the xbmc folder would also show in my recordings folder which is what I don't want. I just want to be able to see all existing downloads in the recordings folder along with any new ones too
The downloads don't appear to be going in to /xbmc/vid , they just go in to /media/hdd and I can't really do a symlink to that location.

I was wondering if there are plans to split the download location and cache location in to two different settings?
I'd like to have my downloads to go to my recordings folder but I don't want to see the xbmc folder in there.

Great idea, will try that. A friend of mine has the same box and uses a touch screen universal remote which he swears by but it's £100+ and some of the functionality is missing (record button).
I wonder if I purchase a genuine Vu+ remote control it a) work with the clone and b) be lighter to operate (easier to press buttons)

I have recently purchased what I think is a clone of the Vu+ solo2 box and I am fed up of the remote control that came with it as the button pressed don't always register and they are quite heavy to press.
I have been looking around for a replacement controller and I am hoping that one of you guys can point me in the right direction. I found a nice looking One for all remote www.oneforall.co.uk/urc7962-smartcontrol-motion.html which I think will work with my box but I am concerned about losing some of the custom Vu+ features such as the straight to recordings button.
Does anybody know of a good replacement remote control that atleast matches the default (but very 'clicky') remote control?
