I gave it a shot again today. Managed to hook onto 26.0 got the signal up on that and slightly moved it to the left until I found another signal. Max I can get it at is 76 but still cant connect to any channels on astra 2 :/

Could it be my LNB ?

this is thew one i have

Well I tried setting prog dvb to astra 28.2 and many channels are showing a quality level of 75% + but i should be aligned to 19.2 thats strange is this a false reading ? I can't seem to see the channels either my c Line is crap or im doing something wrong. I set the satellite 19.2 and used that as my guide, i moved it slightly left and slightly down until i got a signal. The problem is when I reach the best signal possible on my sat finder I can't seem to get the sound any lower than on the half way mark...

So my 1M is not going to cut it i guess ? I seem to be getting a signal from astra 2 but when I scan transponders I get nothing. Signal level stays at 55 and I can't seem to get my sat finder volume lower than half.

DVBdream trough ***star s2 card & a 1m aluminium dish. Not sure what LNB I have was a cheap LNB seller told me it was good for astra and hotbird. I get hotbird and astra 19.2°E no problem.

I am having a problem finding astra 28.2° I can catch astra 19.2°E no problem and my fast sat finder program seems to be going crazy, when I lock on astra 19.2°E it also gives me a signal for astra 28.2° what could be the problem ?

Use your meter and lock onto a satellite Gotv ! Then connect up your box and perform a channel scan to Establish what satellite you are looking at !
Make this your reference point ! So for example if you have locked onto hotbird 13e and you want to get to astra you will will have to move the dish very slightly to the Left and down abit !
But you need a point of reference to work from !
I know its a long shot but can you see the tv screen from the dish site ?
I am sure there is an enigma2 phone/stb signalmeter dish finder Plugin/App i have seen mentioned _ Perhaps someone knows exactly .

Yes this is what I was thinking, but I am connected to a DVB tuner PCI card. Is there a program I can install on my PC to see the current satellite I am connected too ? I would be able to stream my PC from my laptop using teamviewer and see my progress this way. I found a program that checks satellite signal level and quality but it does not say which satellite I am connected too I need to choose the satellite myself.

Attempted today can't figure out the elevation in my co ordinates to catch astra I need to set the dish at 48 degrees can't really figure out if its set right. The mounting does not have any markings on it. Any suggestions ? I am picking up many satellites just not the one I want.

Ah already came across this I think I didn't make myself so clear in my last post. I am stuck on actually adjusting the elevation on the dish say I wan't to adjust it at 20.6 on my dish. How will I know its actually at that degreese ?

    Thanks for info.

Ive worked that out but how do I go around pointing it to the exact satellite I am looking for ? If I move it around il pick up like 5 satellites from my location. How do I go around finding out the exact satellite I need to point to ? Like first I set elevation how do i do that ?

I got a satellite installed passed the wire to my DVB card and everything is nice a tidy, now I need to figure out how to align the satellite to the satellite I want to receive is there a there a guide on how to do this ? I got myself a satellite receiver signal tool too.
