I also have two DM800's with Ferrari inside. Both with HDD and NO FAN!!
Sure they run warm, not hot but really warm....
No problems at all. The DM's stay stable and fast. So, no Fan, no noise.

Try CCcam 2.1.4
Had a similar problem with a Sky Germany card. Changing Emulator worked for me.

Pfff, that's impossible to tell. There is NO Best image.
I think PLI is great (for your wife's happiness) It's simple and .... well, that's it.
Also like NewNigma, great looks and stable, but not always that stable with new plug-ins.
I hate OoZoon, stable, but ugly... really..(but that's my opinion)
Dream Elite was great to, but the original crew stopped, so don't try it cause the original server is down.
I'm running OpenPLI upstairs, and NewNigma in the living room. OpenPLI is the one I prefer most. Stable and Easy...Basicly, all images are fine. You just have to try them ALL and see with one you like most.
