My main problem now is whilst in avalon i am unable to map my hdd . Ihave tried mapping it to media/hdd to no sucess which means i have 1tb hdd unusable. Do i need to remove usb and reset avalon?

Hi. Read your posts cazuela with interest.Prior to posting my first thread i read your thread dated 25/2/13 which i followed. My first mistake was only allocating 1000mb which was not enough as everything was allocated to avalon so i altered it to 7000mb which allowed avalon to save everything. Second mistake was not to allocate anything sdb2 . Can i still allocate to sdb2 without starting all over again. I did not need to use back up as all went back to normal on reboot. At the moment ram is on 54% and flash is on 0% wich is more than enough for my needs. The remaining 8000mb which i have not allocated i can obviously use when needed. My question is, what can use my second partition for . I also have a 1 tb hdd installed. The size of my usb stick is actually 15.649 mb.

Hi. I have set up avalon on vu uno with b/hole 2.1.2 as my internal flash was full . I am using a 17 gb usb. Whilst setting up avalon i allocated 1000mb to avalon, which obiously was not enough as my ram is now at 87% and my flash is now 0%. Great news for flash but not for ram. Any advice on how much to save to avalon or should i allocate all to avalon?. Should i save my full back up in software manager?

All ok now. Ram at 54% : flash at 0%.

When you make personal back up are mountpoints saved i.e media/hdd and usb mount /universe.

Exactly what i was looking for.Just downloaded File Browser from your link , tested it and works a treat. Saves using pc to ftp to check files on vu+uno on BH 2.1.0.You are such a clever fellow.

Have you tried this for static ip address for router . You can assign a static ip address between 1 to 254 and set same ip to router ie. 192.168.1.1** .I used to have same problem as you but by using new ip address problem solved. Hope this helps.

Did you press save and then press exit after inserting line?

Hi. I have a Syntec 2000 0.6db which cost me £119 in 2005 . Now they are priced at £154.80 . Are they overpriced? for their performance. Dont get me wrong as it i have had no problems with it . The reason i went for such an expensive lnb was that with my previous lnb, the birds destroyed it by pecking at it, so i went for the Syntec as it had a hard plastic face,Is it now time for me to upgrade , what do i go for? Preferably with a hard plastic face. I am based in west yorkshire.

Given up on mediastream. Read a blog ,seems there was a dispute between the authors of mediastream and MediaPortal using others files. Comparing the two there were similarities. So be it.

Ok guys.Did some browsing . python 2.7 used on oe.2 based images. and goes in user/lib folder. Now to find upgraded version of mediastream. I previously had version 1.1.1 working on uno before it went down.

Having problem upgrading mediastream. Do not know which python version to install i.e 2.6 or 2.7 .What is python and which version is compatible with blackhole 2.0.8.Where do you ftp python file to. Is it etc or tmp folder. It is mediastream 1.1.1 oe2 which I am trying to install.

Iam having problems installing an avator. I understand from looking at other avators on site that they have to be jpeg or png images. Size 30x30. Is this correct.I have visited many sites and they all seemed to be the wrong size so i installed an image resizing converter which caused innumerable problems such as changing my home page and installing pop ups. Had to go into computer hd to remove all applications it installed.Lesson learnt there.All back to normal now. There must be an easier method of installing avator.C ould someone confirm size and image type please.
