messing around with raspberry using web interface when i thought why not add infra red detector ( i.r.d ) and use a real remote.
Having already raped my 5ky box for the hdd - ( and some other capacitors for another project ¬ namely Dirty electronics stuff )
i noticed it poking out from behind the tv.

I located the i.r.d on the front panel which i had already stripped of its plastic outer cover and snipped the 3 legged detector at the base where it joins the PCB with solder.

the legs are 1.5 cm long so there is plenty to work with so to speak.

i also butchered the GPi0 serial cable from the 5ky+ hd psu board that connects the main board so i had some pre made jumper cables that fitted correctly.
Using three separated cables i soldered them to the i.r.d pin outs and connected them as per the diagram in the schematic i've posted below

To my utter astonishment my samsung tv remote works the xbmc perfectly - button for button ¬

    -
    So to quickly recap -
    1 take i.r.d out of sly+hd box
2 cut GPio serial cable at main board side and remove connector block side intact from power supply board side
3 separate individual cables and cut individual blocks
4 solder cable with connector block to i.r.d pin outs
5 connect to raspberry pi GPio interface as per schematic posted above
    6 power up
7 try remote control - my samsung (BN59-00683A) remote works perfectly incuding VCR/DVD play fwd rwd pause stop buttons

whole operation should take 15 - 30 mins max.
And i found it very rewarding

    Have fun joint10

the color section needa amending with additinal ports for each caid i think mate

BBC HD - Great quality pictures and No adverts -
Shame there isn't an interactive coverage like F1 channel provides.

I used to watch Moto GP from eurosport feeds on 5w - Often without commentary or adverts - Not sure where the feed is now though.

keys are what the card contains and is used by the satellite decoder box to unlock channels - via a "c.a.m"
Some tv packages have " keys " published in the public domain .
those keys can be put on a file which OScam will read instead of a card.

That is the purpose of y mod oscam.

oscam is really a card reading program not an emulator.

Order ya box mate and follow the tutorials on this site or the sponsors connected site.
i am proving to be a poor moderator this morning i cant find the Set up tutorial for solo - I KNOW ITS HERE SOMEWHERE ! lol
Hopefully someone else will point us in the right direction !

Cams are for reading cards - Do you have a card ?
TS panel is an addon which connects directly to your box and allows you to download specific files and bits and bobs without going via a lappy or pc !

Dont worry yourself too much bud Help is never far away !

vix is very good ! i like BH too - You will find half the fun is finding an image which suits you SIR !
Experimenting and playing is the way to familiarize yourself with the Linux based environment.

    Rik

    Get yourself a VU+ solo £179 -
Tried and tested hardware with tons of support and thousands of tutorials - Its all been done before you just have to follow whats already out there !

The hardest bit was finding Linuxsat-support BUT your here now . . . . Order today and you'll have a happy easter for sure.

    Rik

what would you call your card being hammered ? what usage, for reference purposes

30,000 ecm requests is alot for a single peer to use in 24 hours

60,000 - 100,000 ecm requests a day would by alot of usage in my book ¬

BUT - as Nano says different set ups / emulators and configurations can have a role to play too.

Also if you give re-share its hard to police how many other hop2 requests are made !
As already stated - Provided everyting works glitch free dont worry to much and be sure to ask the user/peer in question if theres an issue your concerned about.

have had no issues port forwarding , you need to go into advanced settings portforwarding ,supported devices , and create and name a profile then assign it to the device , im fine on the new firmware and have loads of things running over the net

Same here - BT black hub version3 with no problems at all -

However i still say Draytek is probably one of the best you can buy .

its encrypted with Biss Keys - They (keys) are available but not on this forum !

    :rikjaard1:

which type of receivers correctly work with thereby package?

    Thanks

Any capable of inputting biss keys ! Technomate / VU+ / Dreambox -

my brother is connected to my server via sat broadband, (lives in the sticks) and he gets 20mb (i was shocked) he has never had a problem, not even a glitch ;-)

i beg to differ ¬ i have used satellite broadband and LATENCY is an issue ! No good for online gaming or Card sharing !
    Ping times of 600ms
Both satellite broadband users i know cant card share without glitching !

There are political issues around the kind of encryption you speak about ¬
Although we are all interested in Card sharing protocol we dont wish to draw any un wanted attention from Hoofddorp.
BV ird3t0 are at the forefront of Anti Cs measures and Criminal lawsuits >

Its very interesting What you speak of and a great attitude to share info as you have ! Thank you.
Perhaps because ND5 is used here not many uk enthusiasts will have that subscription _
Keep us informed of your findings _ All input is valued.
