does the Ultimo4K connect to the existing satellite / terrestrial cables
Yes it does buddy, you don`t need anything additional to make it work.
Thanks a mil

I have a VU+DUO2 (2x DVBS /S2 and 1 x DVB-T tuner) and I’m about to purchase an Ultimo4K
My query is , does the Ultimo4K connect to the existing satellite / terrestrial cables or does it require anything additional to make it work ??
apart from a 3-pin plug , electricity etc etc :/
I use catseye setting for my motor sat dish.
to ifnd the DTT channels I press UP arrow to bring up channel list.
press GREEN button while having the sat list open and you will see TERRESTRIAL SERVICES at very top of list.
press OK on terestrial services and you will see all scanned channels.
to go back to sat ,simply do the same again ( in my case I press Blue to bring me to sat favs bouquets)
Turns out that there were quite a few other channels not working ( besides none of the Irish ones ) such as CH4, more4 and Gold etc.
I did cazuela's suggestion above and bosh, all the channels within that list are working, including all the Irish ones, happy days cazuela's, thanks chap.
Sorry, I have another question now,
Is it possible to combine the list of channels, within cazuela's method above and the list of channels within the UK / ROI variations folder, maybe hide the ones that don't work.
Happy out though that I have the missing channels working, sweet.
Display MoreThat doesn´t make sense buddy..
RTE 2 HD and RTE SD are both opening fine on sat within the same frequency...
Also I didn´t know that you needed an emulator to open FTA DVB-T channels ¿¿???
But regardless of this ,if you can open one then you should be able to open all...including TG4
I wouldn't know what an emulator is, but thanks to wikipedia I do now !!
however, the box partially worked i.e. RTE1 & TV3 were working so I was happy with that progress, until today. No saorview channels working now.
Don´t know why you´re using mgcamd either when oscam +/or CCcam work perfectly well..
What has your "vendor" got to with this anyhow as you are using a ready made backup ???
As someone who is completely new to Satellites, receivers, linux etc etc, I took the advice from the person I assume has the knowledge aka the vendor/seller / shop owner.
But this forum seems to have expertise in all matters to do with VU+DUO2 so I'll take and try setting changes from anyone experienced enough and if it works, perfect.
Right now, there's no saovriew channels working, like I mentioned previously, because now within the DVB-T Tuner Configuration settings there's no list of service providers (it's blank)
once in the service provider setting, I press ok and the box crashes - log is attached and the DVB-T Tuner Configuration settings are;
DVB-T Selected & enabled
Config Mode: enabled
Terrestrial Provider: (blank)
Enable 5v for active antenna: Off
Was able to do all of the above and noticed that within the DVB/T settings that I could see a few service providers, where as before I couldnt.
As suggested I chose DVB-T Freq, also the box never crashed, which is nice, the scan found lots of channels this time, I re-booted the box
but there's still no terrestrial channels working.
I have since uninstalled / re-installed channel list (blackhole mgcamd1.35a) (as recommended by the vendor) and now I have RTE1 & TV3 working, RTE2 isn't -
so I'm wondering if mgcamd1.35a is compatible with this image??
I'll try 1.38 later on when home from work.
Display MoreSo you need to scan the frequencies.
setp-> service searching-> tuner configuration-> tuner C: (dvb-t) enabled
Config mode: enabled
terrestrial provider: <Europe DVB-T frequencies
enable 5v for active antenna OFF
#####
setp-> service searching-> automatic scan->:
clear before scan:NO
scan tuner A ( dvb-s2) NO
scan tuner C ( dvb-T) YES
let it run until it tells you scan done ( amount of channels in total)
then restart enigma.
Should be good to go...

The terrestrial.xml file was there but had a size of zero.
So I ftp'd your copy, full re-boot but still no channels?
Ok, Ive done of all the above and still the terrestrial channels are not working??
When I go into Tuner C and try to set it to DVB-T the box crashes, says an error log file is created - where can I find the log file so I can upload here??
Not sure if this means anything, within Network Test all options are green except for IP Address, says unconfirmed.
Display MoreAnything that comes in .ipk extension will be installed with that method.
You can install it a number of different ways:
1) Copy to USB stick, insert into the receiver then follow on screen prompts..
2) With an FTP tool like DCC or Filezilla send the ipk to /tmp folder on the receiver then install in image menu, green button > yellow button > manually install ipk packages.
3) With an FTP tool like DCC or Filezilla send the ipk to /tmp folder then use this command in telnet/putty to install: opkg install /tmp/*.ipk
4) With DCC connect to the receiver then click Tools > Packages > Upload Package > Select the IPK..
After installing, do I need to turn off/on the box with remote or via the switch at the rear of the box??
Right, both tuners A & B are setup as above, the third tuner is terrestrial - what are the settings for this??
- - - Updated - - -
Use the attached channel list or install our addons panel and download what you need from there.
Is this to be FTP'd into the temp folder too
If you are using this backup you don`t need to scan for satellite channels as it has a channel list / bouquets already loaded.
Use this plugin to scan for cable channels => [DOWNLOAD] Lraizer Autobouquets E2 UK Cable.. First uninstall the version that is loaded on the image..
How do you have tuner A+B setup, for motorised / static dish ? On what satellite, 28.2 east ?

So should I just re-flash the box ??

Oh God this may even be more embarrassing - I don't have cable ???

Both are setup as static and to 28.2 east
As I think of it, there's no reception for some of the Irish Channels (RTE 1, RTE 1 HD) within ROI/UK Variations??
I bought a VU+Duo2 the other day, it came with a dual tuner, and a dvbt/c , it was flashed with Vix build 126 v Appollo and fully setup by the vendor.
The image was totally unstable so I installed (flashed BH 2.1.5) and my first problem is to do with tuning in the channels / services.
Sorry for the following very basic question -
Can someone provide info as to how to tune in the tuners, I seem to be going around in a loop.
After selecting the tuner type, press ok, eventually the scan finds services & says its finished, press ok,
go back to the select tuner screen, I go down to the 2nd tuner selection, select the tuner, press ok eventually the scan finds services & says its finished, press ok
go back to the select tuner screen, I go down to the 3rd tuner selection, select the tuner, press ok eventually the scan finds services & says its finished, press ok
go back to the select tuner screen - and then it goes on doing the same as all of the above ???
What have I missed??
