Image you tested could have different driver, released at different dates... this generally has an influence because its the driver/software used inside the tuner (microcode).

If you want wireless to work, as with any other box you need to install the drivers for the wifi dongle you need, finding the PID and VID then deducting which chipset it is and installing the correct driver.

This box doesnt have wifi built, so its the job of the user to find out which one he has and install the software needed.

Feeds... so opkg update and then do a grep to find the exact ipk file to install the xz binary.

If you read the last posts of 2019, the author specify that for some boxes you will have to install the xz compress tool (from feeds), and one screenshot i seen with error as you posted shows the xz is missing.

You can install from feeds, plugins or even upgrade. Probably you have some corrupt data for example on settings ? The image is properly working.

The Backup suite for DM52x and DM900 needs the xz tool when gz/tar was enough but they preferred xz, you have to install xz from the feeds if you want to use this plugin (if you read the error screenshot you will see that it misses it and need you to install it).

I am shocked that images generally can have some bugs, as development versions as this one ;o) that are the result of the latest code published here by openpli. But as you could have read if you use the generic time zone it works fine, the city list for the time zone seems to not be yet in tune after the last week of emigma2 openpli team modification (shame on them then ?).

About the resolution, thats under work, as there is no other open image right now working at all, the development is ongoing, you are free to wait for the final version to test or accept these intermediary versions to play with... or you can join the Team to bring your competence and knowledge, C++ required as well as Assembky.

Look at the github openpli enigma2, and you will find out that they worked on this, probably instead of fixing they broke it... or both, or you didnt set it as per the new openpli behaviour.

I set on my Dreamone the image to Generic / CET, working just fine.
