my boss just got a solo 2 ve
he has just moved and had vm install 4 tv lines into the house (but only set 1 tivo box up as other rooms are being decorated so the other 3 line dont have any boxes on yet (and then cancelled the tv package before the cooling off period) but kept the internet line
i have installed openvix 3.2.36 to his box
all was running as it should but in the evening he was getting freezing on some channels
i took box to mine for 24 hrs to test it and all is fine
so back at his it fitted like this
white box on wall to a vm splitter 1 to super hub 2 and 1 to receiver
there was a 10bd attenuator on bother the super hub 2 cable and receiver cable i have removed it from the receiver cable and rather than freezing now it just gets lots of pixels in the evening
FTA is perfect also

1 dose this sound like a signal problem
2 has taking off the attenuator 10gb made it better or worse as i would say freezing is worse than pixels
3 would removing the attenuator from the super hub 2 improve it
4 i have ordered him a 0/20db variable attenuator could this solve the problem

if anyone can answer any of the above or think of things i could try that would be great

the main box can watch 1 and f te other box is streaming it can watch another but it will use a tuner on the main box so if any recordings are set then there could be a problem

as its a bedroom box your looking for i would get a cheap box and install remote channel streamer works a treat

hi all bit of a strange one
i have a duo2 on openvix 3.2 with a 3.5" WD red HDD installed and using a cable service
its been as good as gold since November when i got it and set it all up and still is but i have 1 small issue

over the last 2 weeks 1 out of say 10 recordings i get a little glitch 5 seconds or so on say an hour show (not a big issue at all TBH) i have yet to see a glitch on live tv when watching so its a pretty solid service
but today when watching a recording (fast and loud on discovery HD) it froze 8 mins in when checking the info bar the timer was still counting so i try a fast forward and try passing it at 16x and 32x speed but the timer was still only going at 1x speed and not allowing me to get any further ahead of recording so i bail out and jump on pc and drag the file back to pc to take a look and sure enough from 8 mins on its goosed no playback at all the file size looked correct for the 1hr show in HD and also the info on the duo2 showed up as 66 mins as it should
now recordings before and after have been fine with no issues at all and there was also a 30 min recording on another channel at the same time that recorded fine

not 100% sure where the issue could be
bad sector on the HDD maybe?
possible the channel and was a legit freeze
i cant see it being the service as other channel was fine both non FTA
2 recording at the same time but not had this issue before as recorded 2 at the same time before
cant be internet connection as other programme recorded and played back fine

please feel free to chuck ideas at me or comment on the above ones as i may of missed somthing as i am still new to it all

this tuner will allow you to watch 1 and record another only using 1 tuner space up (and space for your sat tuner could even add a twin sat tuner in there) i use this myself on my duo2 also no loop tho is needed as the cable tuner will do the magic inside also depending on hat transponders are being used it is possible to record 2 and watch 1 also

i run a 3.5" 2TB WD red in my duo2 without any problems

also if you have a NAS on your network you could always save to that

so i have a duo 2 with a vm line and still learning a hell of a lot i tried ts media plug in out and TBH its not great and like the way i stream on my raspberry pi2 via Kodi for tv shows with the same programmes so ditched that idea
what i am after is a video on demand via a IPTV service i seen a youtube clip where its running and its linked in to the ABM so was wondering what plug in can be used for this and i gather i would also need a sub for this service
if anyone can point me in the right direct that would be great mainly with the plugin

sorry abu on epg refresh it was set to use pvr epg channel i have set a timer to zap to channel 100 is this ok and will it do the same as the pvr epg channel

sorry to bump an old thread
i am having issues on my vu duo2 and have a feeling it is due to epg refresh causing it so have removed it for now
will a null recording give me loads of recordings that would need removing all the time if not how do i go about setting this up
at the moment i have set up a daily timer to zap to channel 100 (vm previews) and it turns off after 3 min only downside to this is it boots the bot up for 3 mins at 2am each morning, will this cause an issue with the box or as i guess safe to do

had my vi duo2 with openvix installed for just under a week now and loving it to bits i am new to all this and learning so much by reading plenty of threads
i got the duo fitted with 1x Twin Tuner Hybrid DVB-C/T/T2 Tuner and it works a charm with my cable
i have been learning and tweaking the EPG and AB to how i want them to work and look and finding it pretty easy and the general layout of the box with piccons ect
the biggest headache i have was my xbox one was making the picture stutter due to the refresh rates but soon sorted it in AV settings

down to the question; recordings
i can set up the recordings easy and auto timers no issues there with the options to adjust settings
i have even set up folders for the wifes soaps to be recorded directly into

so menu, timers, auto timers
give me a list of programmes that are set to auto record being set day of period of days

but green button gives me timer overveiw
this gives me a list of programmes for each episode waiting to be recorded eg EastEnders Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday with details of time and date top gear Sunday date and time
so this gives me a more detailed breakdown of whats coming up to be recorded

i may of answered my own question here but not 100% sure so reason i am asking is the auto timer looking for the item as its setup and as soon as its found it the timer overvewiw confirms what its found and preps it up waiting ready for recording

as for some strange reason i am thinking auto timer is like series link like $ky the timer is a one off recording

also the icons can anyone please confirm what they mean green with white arrow and yellow circle like arrow at present if i have set my auto timers correct they are green circle with white arrow

i have held off asking this question on here as wanted to do it for myself or find a thread but can find an answear or i am just over looking it

next step connect my nas to it and set up tsmedia
