stuppyc your providers data does actually load in my xstreamity iptv player plugin. But I do clever genius stuff in that plugin to load epg data ;)
You might want to give xstreamity plugin a try.

seagen don't worry about it being an openpli issue at the moment.
Just tried a test line on my openatv build and getting the same blank data for the same country bouquets. So its looking highly likely thats there is possible an xml data error somewhere. Their guy is looking into it.
For now, my job is done. Spent far too much of my time on this issue.
We will come back to it, when and if I need to.

seagen i have just been speaking to stuppyc's provider.
Is there any known issues with the openpli's feed version of epg importer. its git 1.0 if I remember correctly.
His line is a standard http line and not https

So we got to some sort of solution for stuppy, but it required using my jedi epg assigner.
the problem was either too larger an epg file
or the provider was cutting off current time data due to time offsets.
there does seem to be some epg data from the provider.
Its a weird one. Looks like it should work for me, but it doesn't

If its your setup I can teamviewer into your box and try to fix things. Its quicker if I check it on my box first though.

If you have no satellite decoder you cannot view over the air satellite streams.
By the looks of it, you just need an iptv line.
And then download an app for your smart tv or buy a fire 4k stick for your tv.

If the vbox you mention is not an enigma2 device (I am unsure)
Then the answer above might not be relevant.

It depends what your are actually hoping to achieve.
Do you want purely a laptop set up with linux and enigma2 to run an enigma2 setup.
Or do you just want to access your enigma2 box satellite channels and iptv streams on your laptop.
If just the latter then that is very simple.
Most enigma2 oe-aliiance images like openatv, openvix, pure2, openblackhole etc all come with software called openwebif.
To access openwebif on your laptop,
First you need to set a password for your enigma2 box. setup > System > network
Then get your enigma2 network address. info > network
For example 192.168.5.10
You just then type this address in your laptop browser. (if on the same wifi)
And you will be presented with the openwebif interface.
From here, you can view all your satellite bouquets (folders) and iptv bouquet folders. IPTV folders would need to be created using a bouquet plugin like my jedimakerxtream plugin or E2m3u2bouquet plugin
clicking the stream or transcode icons will open the stream in your media player like VLC player.

What are you recording? satellite channels or IPTV
1080i is interlaced.
What have you got your video resolution of your box set at. 1080p or 1080i
If downloaded to enigma2 is fine. Can you not just download to enigma2 and use ftp or windows samba network folder to transfer to your PC.

this is my modified functions according to my provider for such renames and some custom sortings in live and vod lists. these are hardcoded and cannot be set via plugin gui. just upload it in plugin folder to test if it helps.
(make a backup before or reinstall the plugin for fallback).
what exactly is this mod doing.

From looking at the code it just seems to be sorting the name into 4k, fhd, hd, sd
rather for example like many defaults of sd,hd,fhd,4k

Power button should standby your box. Don't know why it isn't working on your box. But every box is different, and there maybe a setting in vix. I don't use vix.
Hold power button puts the box into deep standby.
No real need to put these boxes into standby though. I always just leave mine on an over the air channel like BBC One.
As long as you are not leaving an iptv channel constantly running. (thats bad practice) -

I will just add, after being away from my box for a month.
My own picons had screwed up and was crashing the info bar.
I had to force reinstall my shared-components and skin files to make it play happy again.
Maybe a feed update had corrupted something too.
Glad you got it working again.
