Did you ever find out the solution to the problem you had? I realized i have the exact similar problem, though in some instance the dreambox actually boots up after several retries. The problem mostly occurs in the morning hours and will clear up during the day. i.e. i can switch off and on several times without a problem.
I am actually attempting same procedure, but keep getting the error below.

It was more than likely the satellites.xml file was in the wrong location, thats why the channels were greyed out and tuner didnt recognise them.
I also had a similar problem on the same kind of box, the channel list was fine when it was running the default factory image. I patched it up and all of a sudden it could not list any channels and also getting the '"check tuner configuration.
Now i have two boxes running different images and one works and the other not as below.

I just loaded my DM800SE clone with ramiMAHER-v19-dm800se-9-20-2011.nfi image and it loaded successfully. However the user interface is so different, i am lost on where to do the tuner configuration. Looking for some instruction on how to proceed with the tuner configuration and channel listing.

With the same setting, Channel scan works perfect.
What''s the procedure for moving images between two DM800SE .
Hi guys, I have a DM800SE clone which i am having problem loading an image to it. I keep getting the error 'invalid image (or old version)'. I have tried with several images but with no luck, i wonder what i am doing wrong.
Could you please kindly refer me to working instructions i could follow, i am have been using Ferrari filler V1.3.3.7 FTE and the browser as my tools.
