    Another way:

    Download a fresh OpenEight image, like "openeight-6.8-sf8008-20230904_mmc.zip".

    Unzip it with 7-zip, open rootfs.tar.bz2 and go to /etc/passwd.

    Right click and edit it.

    Change the first line, as described in my previous post.

    Exit and save all changes.

    Install the image with root password "dreambox".

    It looks like you're doing something wrong or not completing the password change correctly.

    Are you satisfied if you change the password to "dreambox"?

    Can you access OpenEight files from an image in flash? .. (slot1 is preferred).

    You must mount the slot (on the SD-card) where OpenEight is installed.

    If everything is OK, edit the /etc/passwd file.

    The first line is:

    root:x:0:0:root:/home/root:/bin/bash

    Replace "x" with "$1$$34NPeumc9sBBCAw.oUaM80"

    The line will now become:

    root:$1$$34NPeumc9sBBCAw.oUaM80:0:0:root:/home/root:/bin/bash

    Save the passwd file and exit.

    The root password will change to dreambox.

    This is for NOVALER multibox 4k UHD ; I'm just looking to convert an mb. file to a zip. file

    The .mb file is just a compressed file like .zip.

    If you want to see its content, change the .mb extension to .zip and open it.

    However, its format is not suitable for installing it in a slot of your box.

    What version of MultiStalkerPro are you using on that image?

    I've already tried it and with this OpenHDF 7.3 image but I can't always get an error

    The version of MultiStalker Pro I used was this one: enigma2-plugin-extensions-multi-stalkerpro_1.0+git16+ab1d5a0-r0_cortexa15hf-neon-vfpv4

    My box is : Octagon SF 8008 4k

    I had it installed with DreamSatPanel which is not in operation now.

    Anyway, try this.

    Unzip the given file and with FTP transfer its contents to OpenHDF.

    Restart enigma and enjoy it.

    panorama, απ' ότι κατάλαβα, σε ενδιαφέρει ο οδηγός για OpenATV. Τον δημοσιεύω για όποιον άλλο φίλο ενδιαφέρεται.

    Παρακάτω θα βρείτε οδηγό για εγκατάσταση, επιλογή και δημιουργία αντιγράφων ασφαλείας images στο MultiBoot.

    panorama,

    Τελικά, τα κατάφερες με την καρτούλα;

    Αν κατάλαβα καλά, Θέλεις να χρησιμοποιήσεις την καρτούλα για να εγκαταστήσεις images στα slots 1-4 και να επιλέγεις όποιο slot θέλεις.

    Έχεις ξαναεγκαταστήσει image στον sf8008 μέσω USB-stick; (ο τρόπος είναι ίδιος και για την sd-card)

    Αν είναι αυτό που θέλεις, τότε πες μου:

    - Βλέπει το σύστημα την καρτούλα ως hdd; (συνήθως την διαβάζει ως hdd, εκτός κι αν ορίσεις εσύ κάτι άλλο)

    - Ποιο image έχεις στο slot1;

    - Έχεις ελληνικό ή αγγλικό μενού;

    Θα κοιτάξω να κάνω έναν οδηγό σύμφωνα με αυτά που έχεις.

    Εγώ έχω το OpenATV με ελληνικό μενού ως βασικό image και έχει αρκετά πλεονεκτήματα σε σχέση με άλλα images.

    Το πρόβληγμα δεν είναι του SatDreamGr αλλά του ίδιου του MultiStalkerPro όταν τρέχει σε py2 images βασισμένα σε pli.

    Απεγκατέστησε το πρόσθετο και κάνε εγκατάσταση αυτό που θα βρείς εδώ (#292). RE: MultiStalker-Pro

    Αν πάλι βαριέσαι, άστο όπως είναι και αντέγραψε το plugin.py στη θέση /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/MultiStalkerPro/

    και επανεκκίνησε το enigma.

    @parageria

    I tried the way you mention in post #34 but the installation of the image stops without completing the extraction of all directories/files.

    If we use "MultiMiniBoot" we can rename the rootfs.tar.bz2 file (e.g. OpenATV-7.3.tar.bz2) and install it as we do with .nfi files.

    The result is again the same. It can't extract/install all the files, I don't know why.

    The problem in the end was the image itself.

    DreamElite is a very old image and probably the tar compression tools are not compatible with the new compressed files.

    Running the Telnet commands on a newer image installed on the hdd, OpenATV was decompressed normally.

    The same happened by using MultiMiniBoot from image on hdd (e.g. AreaDeltaSat).

    Installing image.tar.bz2 with MultiMiniBoot does not require replacing the 3.2-dm800se modules or the bcm7405.ko file

    (just install and run the image).

    Another wonderful multiboot plugin is Neoboot. I tried it with AreaDeltaSat flash-image, but unfortunately although it installs the images,

    it doesn't switch them when I select one and it goes back to flash.

    AreaDeltaSat does not accept MultiMiniBoot.

    MultiMiniBoot plugin was born to serve dreamboxes and is perfect for this old box.

    I prefer it because it has many advantages over other multiboot plugins:

    - Beautiful and easy to use user interface.

    - It runs images that made for original dreamboxes (I don't know if it applies to all images).

    - Creates easy, fast and safe backups of all images from flash-image (in .tar format).

    - It doesn't distinguish between pli and alliance images and you don't need to replace the 3.2-dm800se modules.

    - Automatically installs WLAN settings on the installed image (according to the flash-image settings).

    - It runs python 3.xx images.

    - You can change the name of any image and run it directly without having to reboot flash-image.

    But it also has two disadvantages:

    - It cannot be installed on the new images. Unfortunately it stopped being updated by the devs a long time ago.

    - Supports up to 12 images.

    Maybe an advanced user who interested in these boxes (see parageria) can modify the plugin to accept many more images.

    Anyway, I managed to solve this problem by creating 12-image groups and by renaming the directories, I can run any image I want.

    I do this either with the computer or with the image file manager.

    Couple of months ago I replaced the 16gb USB pen with a 32gb microSD card (using a USB card-reader).

    It's much faster and I have a lot of available capacity. I transferred almost all the backup images I had on PC to the card.

    Below is a list of installed images (all working).

    The only way I was able to fully install the image, was with Linux OS.
