With the greatest of respect my friend, your suggestion was not helpful. I have ordered a cheap box , card reader and server ready to install whatever distribution of linux (I am thinking debian) that is best for the compatibility of OSCam then get the 'cheap' box to connect and simply decode and show the channels. That is my logic. Once I understand the complexities of the C,F lines etc and the software I will then look at improving my client side hardware.

Asking my friend however is not an option. He just has a box with a pre paid subscription which is NOT what I want. I want to share my card and setup my own server purely out of interest firstly and family benefits second.

I have bought one of these to try and set. Is it possible to get these to connect to my server once its set up? the others are like £80 loaded to go like but I wanted to learn to set up and share my own card not a paid service like the ones for £80+.

Am I correct in assuming that openbox just needs the server details to connect to and it will accept and show the feed from the decrypted card from the server? But If I wanted to play around with images the openbox is not capable of that? better of getting an enigma 2. where is the best place to purchase one of them that isn't a cheap clone.

Ok, does the reciever need to the connected to the server? how does it work ? I have had my openbox come in its original state. Do I need to add software to the box? Or reflash an image containing the box OS and software?

Ok so I will need to set up a sky subscription then. May I ask what your setup is? My friend has a vu box and he can get all the pay per views channels etc. How is that possible?

Could you tell me more about the sly cards? Also is there any other alternatives instead of using a real card to share from some one else , like a server of feeds to connect to or something? (if its possible).

Please excuse if I sound completely stupid. I am just not sure whats available for me .

I have ordered the omnikey 3121 , will that suffice? I'm not sure about cards. Could you enlighten me?

Is there any version of CCcam that are 64bit not 32bit to install on my 64bit debian server. If i run the CCcam.x86 (32bit) I get file not found as its a 32bit binary.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
