Just open crossepg, on the main page hit the menu button and set it to store on the root of your HDD, then on the openTV, tab select the ***uk_astra2_28.2e option then hit the red button to download.
got mine set to download auto at 1am every night and it's been working flawlessly.
Nope nothing there on mine, open TV is just blank nothing there to select. Weird.
I'm running the latest version from the online updates- version 2.0.70
It supports Rytec xml - which I've not tried- but I have been using the Opentv provider (for 28.2e) and it's been working great.
Are you installing a XML file anywhere to get it to work? Only used CrossEPG Downloader on E2 before so struggling to work out how to use this.
Crossepg is working great on the latest firmware- full 7 days, set it up the same as in E2
Not seeing anything for freesat/$ky. No options for EPG data like I have with E2, any guides how to get it working anywhere?
There's a spark app that allows you to control and stream video from the A3 to your Android tablet or phone that is pretty good, not the best UI but it works.
To answer your questions.
1, Its supports diseq but I cannot confirm if it will handle 8 inputs tho.
2, Yes you can activate time shift.
3, Its Android - MX Player works fine but it is built to make the most of Kodi (formally XBMC) so why use an half arsed player when the device is capable of doing so much more.
4, Yes but remember it is a single tuner and doesn't allow for viewing and record via the tuner even if sharing same signal and polarity.
5, Its based on Jellybean not KitKat and it is heavily skinned. Also although it has full access to google play store most apps seem to be incompatible with the device in my experience ie mainly media type ones such as TV catchup apps and ones like Google Play music whilst working are VERY clunky. Can't answer about games as I haven't attempted to install any.
The box is far from perfect but is still pretty good and the best hybrid I've used so far. Just don't expect it to be all singing and dancing because it isn't.

I want to buy soon Amiko A3, and i want to ask you about changing the TV channels.
As i can see on the remote control, there are only 2 buttons for volume, but not for programs.
If you are in full screen on some tv program, how do you change back / forward ? Do you have to switch back to some menu, again, to choice the program ?

It has several ways. Up down on the click wheel, press back and select box, colour buttons for favs, history etc.
Just don't expect a decent EPG atm, currently its rubbish.

then on the a3 as follows

misc settings
database transform
inport E2 lamedb
follow the onscreen instructions, job done
No need to download via another device, download to the A3, use ES file brower to unzip the package then load the package in as you described.

update: the audio issues is on all video playback, TV , my movie files on samba so , sorry to be thick, what is the solution ???
Sounds like you have a duff box, Oscam glitch only affects some pay sat channels, you shouldn't experience any glitching anywhere else.
Have you tried a firmware update as you may have a duff install but I'd the problem still exists then it may be a hardware issue. Try changing the HDMI cable too, odd things can happen.
Suggest you at least read the main thread, the answer awaits you......
Does anyone actually use one of these to record? Struggling to see how without an epg. Are we really going back to the 80's?
No further problems for me either other than Oscam seems a bit slow to start initially from boot up, works fine once up and running.

RE: your first issue, did you try stopping and restarting oscam on the box before you wiped? Ive had my box running a couple of days now with zero issues.
As for the box retaining xbmc settings & stuff i think every box does that. I did a wipe when i first got my box & was surprised to find all my xbmc addons were still there afterwards.
The A3 is the only android device I've known that doesn't wipe everything after a fresh install from factory wipe.

Just wondering how you are now all getting on with your Amiko A3 boxes - i have been thinking over the last week whether or not to buy one. Want a single tuner sat receiver with ability for more. Was looking at the Vu+ solo also which is obviously a better sat receiver but with things moving on with IPTV, and boxes running android with ability to load addons such as XBMC i kind of wanted a little more than just a sat receiver. However first and foremost the sat receiver is most important and want to be able to use newcamd on box so just wondering if the issues subsided with the release of new firmware etc.?
I cannot recommend one yet owing to glitches with Oscam. Shame because it has a lot going for it.
I had a bit of spare cash in my PayPal account and have since purchased another Alien 2 to see if it has actually got any better. I'm not holding my breath if i'm totally honest. Don't think i'll be going anywhere near the Alien 3 for a good while though.

Run it with OpenA TV image, get a crash maybe once or twice a month and usually only when I'm messing around with the EPG. Other than that it works as it should with no problems for me.

Check your Oscam.server setting and you can as well download the latest Oscam.apk which was made public today. It is much more stable.
Enlighten us by what we should be looking for please as it is still glitching every 8 seconds for me.
Not a flop as it is the best received I had so far after Dreambox, Cuberevo, Vu+ Duo and Qviart Undro.....with the right oscam.server settings the emu is working well and stable and a new version has been published today :)

Again another car crash of a receiver from Amiko, it makes you wonder why they bother. You would have thought they would have learned from the Alien 2. I was hoping this box would be OK but if its main purpose for being isn't been fulfilled then its bit pointless. I'm glad i held off from buying one now.

pretty much nothing wrong with the Alien 2 now, mine works like a dream.
The Oscam glitch on the A3 is frankly ridiculous as is the lack of an EPG, you would have thought that these too areas were pretty much a priority but hey ho.
Found one cool app PopcornTime, kind of torrent player.
Installed on my A3, but have not tested fully yet.

Popcorntime is pretty poor tbh, far better Addons available via xbmc
