There is no update version in the op is just 1 channel for vti image it was not available for vti before yesterday.

This is the same version that has been available for other images for a while now

    Ah, OK, Ta
Thought it might be an upgrade.

Have it working on VIX, so won't bother with this then.

Is anyone (like subixonfire for instance) working on developing this plugin and the icefilms version - or have they been distracted elsewhere??

Not sure what you mean here mate.

I have loaded the "Catseye E2 Settings File 75 East-45 West 06.07.2012" bouquet, which provides a list of different satellite favourite lists.
So I can move between different sat channels by selecting a different favourite list and selecting the new channel, e.g 19.2 Eurosport Deutsch. is one one favourite list within the bouquet and the BBC is on a 28.2E favourite list

Yes, long and Lat is right - as per dishpointer.
I assume USALS must be setup right as satfinder moves to the correct place when I pick a diff satellite?????

I am using the Vu+ Duo - and with the BH image it works perfectly with a twin USB-T tuner - I have 2 twin USB-T tuners - both based on the Afatech AF9015 chipset that work. Other images crash the tuner on gui restart - but a full restart cures this.

If you are in need of a twin USB-T tuner once you have got your receiver - let me know - Like I said I have 2 of these tuners and I don't really need 2 so I'm sure we could strike a deal....

As for a DVB-T2 tuner - last I heard there were issues with these working at all, and not seen any updated information to suggest a DVB-T2 tuner works - I might be wrong and I am sure someone will correct me with specifics if I am.

    Thanks for the offer m8.
In the end I plumpted for the reduced Duo (£269) as I wanted the twin tuners and patience got the better of me.
I have also rummaged around and found an MSI Mega*** 580 DVB-T USB tuner. Knew I had one hidden away and found it the other day.
Interestingly it says its 'HDTV ready', so will be interested to see if it works with the latest BH image.

So will try that out with the Duo, see how it goes, and report back.

    Cheers

    Lo there.

New genuine Duo arrived safe and sound and preloaded with latest BH image.

All setup and working. USALS setup for Technomate 2600 and in satfinder it sees the sats that my prev box will see.
    Great.

With Catseyes multi sat bouquet load I am struggling though.
When I change from 28.2E favourites to say Hotbird favourites, or whatever, and pick a channel I get the flashing motor moving, but it does not move the dish.

I have to go through the menu, into satfinder - select the sat I need then go back to the EPG.
Then I can view the channel on the other Sat.

Is there fix or better workaround for this, as its a bit of a faff???

    MD

Support is driven by the need for support, and unless we all decide to throw out our VU+ Duo receivers, then I can see this receiver continuing in its respectable longevity. There is progression, but this progression is often slow, and sometimes things don't take off. The Vu+ Duo might be getting on a bit in terms of specs, but it is still seen as a benchmark.

    Thanks mate.
Assumed this was the case, as I still see old Enigma 1 boxes getting some element of support, here and elsewhere, and after all the Duo2 is also Enigma 2 based like the Duo isn't it, so Evolution, not Revolution.

its nice that others think the same as I do.
It was a close call on the Duo vs Uno. but in the end £269 for the twin tuners won the day for the Duo.

Seems my new baby is getting diss'd even before the stork has delivered it. :too_sad:

    Hi,

Bought Duo this morning £269 delivered . Now I've been told on other forum that I should have got an Uno as its newer with better chip set, memory etc. But I wanted unit with twin tuners so opted for the old Duo.
Its been suggested on this other forum that the Duo only has a short support life because the Duo2 is coming out soon.

I still see bouquets and plugins for the older Enigma 1 sets, so can't see that support for the Duo will disappear for a while.

    What's peoples opinion here?

    Cheers dude. beer10

BTW, If your Sig is correct you are on VIX now. Any reason?
I asked for BH to be pre-installed, could have been any image, but that's what I've used before

you can use something like flashexpander to add plugins to your HDD if you are worried about internal flash!

Plugins? the choice is endless....if your gonna use them all!

lol. Thats what I'm worried about m8.

So with this flashexpander (which I assume is another plugin/utility), what is performance like? After all running from on-board flash memory is going to be quicker than ext USB flash

Addons are down to personal taste and your setup, some are more popular than others, here is a simular thread from not so long ago :)

    http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…at-plugins-you-using.html

    Cool, Thanks.

And at what point does the Duo get choked? I assume all the plugins are different sizes.
Does it take lots to kill it, or are there other factors that influence this?
Reason I ask is that the Duo is avail at an attractive price now, but I don't want to invest in it if its only going to have a short live as images and plugins increase in size over the next year or two.

    Lo there,

Pulling trigger on Genuine Duo or Uno in the next 24hrs.

Recognise that the Duo has less onboard memory than the Uno, so loading lots of plugins may not be a great thing?

What are peoples opinions on essential plugins that won't kill a Duo? Which ones do you really use/need on your Duo.
Obviously 7 day EPG is essential and I quite fancy the look of 1channel, but which others?

    Cheers,

    MD

    Lo there mrgmx,
Yes, well I've had fingers burnt wrt a clone Duo, so looking genuine now anyway. Lavatronics were top of the list to buy from anyway.
Yep I know about the Duo-2, but its not out there yet, and will be at a premium when it does come out.

The reason for the Uno over the Duo is that the Uno is new technology, more memory, smaller etc and once you fit a twin sat receiver its like a quicker smaller (more attractive??!?!) version of the Duo anyway.
The pluggable twin tuner module for the Uno and Ultimo is not out there yet, all you can do presently with a Uno is swap the single sat S2 tuner module for a hybrid DVB-T/C tuner module.

I can live without the second sat tuner for now, but it would be nice to add the option of a second DVB-T2 tuner via ext USB so I can at least record off two tuners. That way when the twin S2 tuner module is released I will have three tuners (or even 4 if the usb tuner is dual)

So in summary, won't be able to afford the Vuo-2, Uno is better IMHO in terns of future spec, but want twin tuner option for now
    Thats my reasoning anyway.

So any advise on ext USB DVB-T2 tuners would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    MD

    Lo there,

Still umm'ing and arrr'ing as to whether to plump for genuine Duo or Uno.
I am still leaning towards the Uno. (newer, faster, more onboard memory, smaller footprint etc etc)
But at this point it only has the one tuner.
Pluggable/swappable twin tuner to come sometime later in the year (hopefully)

So if I was to purchase it I want to add ext-USB Terrestrial HD tuner to the mix. Ideally twin tuner if poss.

Are there a selection to choose from that people know will work, assuming the right firmware and drivers are deployed?? Or what should I be looking for in terms of spec??

    Thanks

    MD

No t'wasn't you mate - from another forum.

Got bored waiting for response from HK distributor/factory, so raised Paypal dispute.
Bearing in mind I had not had a reply to my 3 emails, a few hours after initiating dispute got a response from said distributor

    hello
what is the problem for the box ?
why make dispute on paypal ?

    Funny that

Well it was direct from distributor in Hong Kong. My own fault for going on the cheap (albeit on a recommendation from a forum member)

Just tried re-flashing - massive spark, burning smell etc. So PSU is now toast.

Bought using Paypal, so if don't get indication that they will supply PSU in next few working days ( I asked for this on Wednesday), will start dispute to get money back through Paypal
TBH, the concern here is that they demand I send the unit back to them. It'd be cheaper to get a new PSU. That is of course assuming the PSU discharging has not damaged something else.
