I think this thread could learn everyone something and even though ive been in the hobby since the very start ive learned a little so many thanks guys for taking the time to write it i will certainly come back to this thread if i get issues on a box and need to buy caps --i have found this thread a great read and detailed pics --thanks again

Just out of interest would it be possible for either or both of you to do a tutorial on changing caps i realise you have kindly put pics on etc but what im getting at is describing if they are difficult to fit or solder etc i for one would certainly be interested for any future problems i may encounter with boxes meanwhile as ive said earlier great thread its a learning thread for all

What a bargain Jensen mate and i know from experiance a great and honest seller i have too many boxes myself otherwise i would have snapped it up instantly

Yes i thought of that too that is why i said check frequencies and polarity it could as the poster says still be LNB fault but i would check simple things first

OK IT SEEMS YOUR lnb is not at fault or at least not an obvious fault then it could come down to your cable as you said you took a feed from a friends dish and scanned and all channels came that would rule out tuner fault so it now could be a cable fault could you check all F connector joins and also condition of cable

Can you check the frequencies and polarity of the channels you scanned for instance if the channels scanned are all H polarity and no V channels are coming in then YES your LNB is failing or it could be the other way around where you recieve ALL V channels and no H channels if you check this it may give a insight to your issue

I honestly dont know if the reason that attachments cannot be viewed without first thanking the poster is to stop guests viewing them this of course would make perfect sense as some will come to forums and just get what they can without actually joining the forum

No one forces anyone to say thanks it is of course there if you wish to see some posts that you can only see them if you press the thanks button but lets face it if a uploader has uploaded a large file and you wish to use that file then it is quite easy to say thanks to see that file then simply download it if you dont want the file then you dont press thanks and you simply dont see it its not all together unfair
People who religiously contribute to a forum do so to help the members they are diamonds of any forum and there should not be a limit as you call it to the amount of thanks recieved it SIMPLY MEANS THAT MOST PEOPLE APPRECIATE THEM.

The requirement to see content i do not agree with, IE: i have not even seen what the post is about and have to say thanks...
however the requirement to say thanks to download an attachment i do agree with. IE: I would not download it if i did not want the attachment...

My way of looking at it, is that it encourages more members to get involved uploading things, rather than just leaching. Kind of like good torrent sites.

I have to totally agree with jensen as ive said earlier i regard it as polite and manners to say thanks for the time the uploader has took to find the file or even put a informative post here that helps you it is obvious that if someone gives you something you will trecieve by saying THANKYOU
The reason you see some posts with a lot of thanks on them is that either they are informative or helping in some way or they have supplied files which as i say dont appear by magic they are sourced so my own opinion is as a true gentleman if i recieve something i will say THANKS

I still have a octagon somewhere and as you can see i love German boxes but the reason i questioned the price was if a person buys from the sponsor here and there is a issue with the box then they are only a telephone call away and will if it cannot be fixed exchange it that alone to me is worth paying for ITS CALLED AFTER SALES and also boxes have moved to bigger processors than the one for sale and for slightly less money than the seller is offering here so along with after sales it is worth either paying a lot less than the sellers asking price or buying from the sponsor with after sales guarentee

I think all the boxes sold by the sponsor run VIX and personally and it is only an opinion so please dont jump down my throat but why would anyone pay more when they can get a cheaper box doing the same thing WITH A GUARENTEE new from sponsor

If you are going to download a channel list then surely you looked at the date of master G post it is 6 years old so there are lots of recent channel lists on site and Prophet updates Rats channel lists regular

I too found his initial post and further comments very strange as i said in my reply to him a lot of members will come to a forum daily and check out there favourite parts of the forum but staff usually check every post so i did not understand his comments and of course the reply to Cazuela who i think all respect here was laughable i wondered though was he just one of the few who no matter how good things are like a moan

Can i just add as an XTREND user if you consider that if the sponsor still has the ET8500 on offer it is half the price of what it was originally and is fantastic value and for £19 over your budget at £169 is a absolute bargain and as you see i have many boxes but this is my main box without doubt

My personell view on this if something is interesting or helpfull even if the post does not contain a download it is then common courtesy to thank the poster this of course is just my views but i respect others views
Uploaders though do a great deal of work and if you use a file then it would be the norm to say thankyou but even news posts deserve a thankyou in my opinion
