have you updated spark before you going to flash e2.
did you use the spark_ 1.2.51 E2 Boot Upgrade

the latest hdmu works great.hdmu hd ch 28.2 fixt
the pkteam images are stable.no 28.2 fix
why not try the images and see for yourself.

great that the hdd is working now.

have you tryed this
open telnet and

mkfs.ext3 -L RECORD /dev/sda1
cd /autofs/sda1
mkdir movie

i had the same problem.
now my hdd is working.

the hd channels on 28.2 east are fixt.
not bad at all i think,give it a try.

i don`t have this image yet on my box.
i am going to flash it tonight.
i hope this image is better than the early ones.

try it through the webinterface > WebTV

try to format your usb stick with this program.
and try another e2 image for your box instead HDMU.

did you try first spark 1.2.51 with e2 bootloader
with this you get an Upgrade of your Bootloader.
Then it should work.
go into spark and select menu
choose spark,go to update software
choose spark_1.2.51 E2 Boot Upgrade EU
try this first

wich box do you have.
alien (8900) or alien2

use the back usb port.

Spark boxes use sh4.
Mipsel boxes are dreambox, vu, xtrend etc...

format your usb stick again (fat32)and try again.
or try another usb stick.

i think this ipk is not for the alien2 but for mipsel boxes.

i hope that they will fix it but i think it has no priority.

both images are running wel on my alien2.
