I wonder if you can please help me regarding FanControl2 downloaded from the BH Addon panel, on a Vu Ultimo BH2.02 Rev E. Can somebody please advise what option should be selected for the FanType (ie. 3-pin, 4-pin, 4-pin PID)? Alternatively what are the best settings to use for this Addon / Vu Ultimo receiver with the hot weather?

Also installed is the Manual Fan Control (Standby) Addon which has FanOFFIn Standby=No, PWM value max, Status Check Period=10 seconds. Is there likely to be conflict of settings between these 2 Addons?

I wonder if you can please kindly help this newbie.

Running BH2.02 Rev E along with the HDGlass 16 skin latest version (previews EPG for current and next channel) on Vu Ultimo receiver and having problems with EPG data refresh on some of the channels. The EPG data is stored on the HDD.

Briefly, the now-next EPG for the current channel is shown and then followed by "EPG data not available" message. The following next channel is fine with the now-next EPG data displayed correctly.

When choosing the Single EPG option, this correctly displays the chronological EPG data for that channel. I have tried many of the suggestions made about EPG configuration in this forum without success. What is the relationship between Cross-EPG and the EPG panel available with the BH2.02 Rev E image?

With the Vu Ultimo receiver running Black Hole 1.76 image, is there a method of how you can:-

- change the sort order to a frequency display or a provider display, in ascending/descending order, instead of the normal alphabetical channel name order display?

- Add a new frequency with the SR, FEC details for a desired specific satellite?

- Display only the FTA or scrambled channels?

There are no signal loss issues. It appears that if I "unconfigured Tuner C" and then restore it's previous state of a singe satellite, this appears to fix the problem. The receiver is using Black Hole 176, and how can you force a manual EPG download?

As a newbie, I would like some help in undertsanding on the loss of a tuner assignment (picture loss) randomly on some of the channels on Astra 19.2E. A few months ago, I thought this had been solved, but unfortunately it has resurfaced again.

The Vu Ultimo receiver has BH176 with Triple S/S2 tuners which are directly connected to a quad input LNB (have tried loop-through option as well). I have tried rebooting the receiver and still the problem persists and I cannot establish any pattern as to what could be the random cause of this. I also noticed that sometimes the EPG data is missing for the corresponding channel.

As a newbie, I wonder if you can please help me with questions relating to attaching an external HDD recording for the Vu Ultimo triple tuner receiver (BH 1.76) with an internal 1TB hdd:-

- Are there any known issues when using an external 1TB hdd connected to the ESATA port connector on the rear of the receiver which also has an internal 1TB hdd?

- How do you redirect the receiver's recordings to take place on the external hdd instead of the internal hdd?

- What initialisation / disk format and from where should be applied the external hdd, eg. FAT32?

- Can the recordings stored on the external hdd be played on a PC without any form of conversion required?

- Are there any recommended external SATA enclosures with an ESATA port used with this receiver?

Just in case, it might be an idea to restart the receiver once the satelites.xml updates are applied and hence being recognised. I have found this principle to work many times in the past.

It appears that the reason behind this tuner issue is that somehow the satellite-LNB configuration had reverted to unconfigured for the remainder of the other 2 tuners. Reassigning them back cured the issue. However, I have also applied the suggested tuner configuration scenario.

Regarding the installation setup, yes, that's correct and all seemed OK.. Before all this, I had the factory installed VIX image (Dec 2011) which crashed due to the Spinner pluggin. If available, maybe I should revert back to that image.

Thanks for your suggestion of rearranging the tuner configuration and will update on the results, even though my current tuner configuration issue is intermittent.

Using BH176 on a Vu Plus Ultimo receiver (1TB hard disk), (motorised Quad LNB via VBoxII) with triple tuners (S/S2). Once tuner A is setup, tuner B is set as a loop through, tuner c as a second cable of motorised LNB. The dish is pointing at 19.2E Astra 1, it appears that I am loosing channels being displayed on screen, apart from BBC. I noticed that the flashing Satellite Dish symbol and the viewed channel as no assigned tuner? I have re-programmed the satellite positions of the VBoxII many times, but this has not solved the problem. Why is this happening? Do the tuner drivers need updating or I am missing something out? Does this receiver need a hard reset everytime there are changes to the system, in order to recognise them?

I have considered using the VIX 3042 image, but do not know how to install the pluggins from a USB stick?

Using a VuPlus Ultimo receiver with BH176 and installing BH1776 skins from TRR 2.0 Pluggin, after a GUI restart, the receiver hangs at the starting GUI message. Is there a particular sequence of steps which need to be followed or installed during the installation of these BH176 skins?

Can somebody please advise on any BH176 skins recommendations, which allow a mini-TV preview window whilst showing the adjacent program details or listings?

Also, one of the installed pluggins allows a firmware upgrade. Is this safe for the above receiver?

I installed this Spinner pluggin and the receiver restarted and this is where my issue began. The receiver reboot was hanging and hence prevented any direct access apart from FTP. I tried a renaming the various Spinner files-directory via FTP, but this did not work either. In the end, I resorted to re-flashing with a different the image since I could not even access the backup.

At the moment, I am experimenting with the VIX 2.496 and BH 1.76 images. After a re-flash, the BH allows the restore of the saved tuners (x3) satellite positions, etc. However, the VIX does not offer a restore of the settings but instead messes up the 3 tuners assignments-order, etc. As per your kind suggestion, I wil also try the VTI image.

I wonder if you can please help or point me in the right direction about how to install SKINS with the .tgz extension on to the VuPlus Ultimo receiver (BH 1.76) / FTP directory path on the receiver. Can these file types also be installed from a USB stick?

Is there such a "sticky" available explaining all the FTP directory structure relating to the respective functionality of the pluggins/software extensions for the receiver or if they can be installed from a USB stick?

I tried via FTP renaming the folder wherever it exists, but this still did not work. I have used DreamToolbox VuEdition 4.5 for the backup. Am I correct that even though the receiver is rebooting I should be able to restore the backup settings?

Alternatively, how should I re-flash a later VIX Image or maybe even a BlackHole Image and restore the settings afterwards?

I wonder if you can please help me with the VuPlus Ultimo receiver using factory VIX Image. I installed one of the Tunisasat Addon Manager/"Spinner" plugging (I think that is what it was called). The receiver restarted but now keeps on crashing, repeatedly after automatically rebooting. How can I resolve this problem? Last month, I did take a backup to the hard disk and was wondering how I can revert back to that?

Yes, you are correct in your suggestion of activating the CAM. Which one is the best CAM's to be used / activated for the VIX image?

On a different note, when setting up a parental control password for the Ultimo receiver, is there such a thing as a Master password ,should one forget the user-defined password, in order to access the receiver?

Thanks for your advice which worked 100%. When installing the various CAMS (from .IPK files) how can you configure them?
Does this mean we should use this directory location (receiver) to install any type of .IPK files or is it simply easier to use a USB stick?

Also, can we use Enigma2 add-ons with Ultimo receiver (factory VIX image installed) , eg. TS-Sateditir and TSPanel or any other apps?
