As said there is no MediaPortal for Python 3, means there is no MediaPortal for any OpenATV > 6.x

If you would use VTi image on your Vu+ then you could use last available version from 2021 with fixes provided on Boxpirates board.

Well then you're using an unsupported device, there is no MP for your device. And also not for Python 3, if you're using it on a Python 3 device then it's just a illegal stolen copy of my work and it's back many years to the current state and missing thousands of changes. And almost everything in your version is probably broken as it has never been fixed (as my code is no longer available for misuse).

Don't use your HDD for caching the icons there is a reason these files are stored on /data this will slow down MP startup and also spinup your HDD for no reason on any access. Also it seems you haven't installed the latest MP version as you've options in your Setup which are no longer available.

    @passata

Doesn't make any sense to download the .deb as the full feed is necessary for installation. And the links above are not specific to newnigma², these scripts are universal for any DreamOS image.

This is 2020.07.1 what should i do

You're using unsupported hardware, means no updates for you.

Up-to-date MediaPortal runs only on Dreambox hardware with DreamOS based images.

Source is protected so it cannot be reused on any other hardware.

You can get some fixes (approved by me) for your version which are usually posted on Boxpirates board.

The version is on the mainpage top left edge.

But it doesn't seem you're using supported hardware, although your wrote one page back that you've installed the latest version from IHAD.

hello dhwz friend why is there still no update or did you leave it

There was already an update two weeks ago and there will be another one in approximately 2 weeks.

You'll get a notification as soon as it's available when you launch the MediaPortal.

but he still pulled support anyway.

What i did say though to the request was that if he decides to permanently stop support we may consider allowing the unofficial version to be posted again.

In hindsight it would have been better to leave them.

I fully understood and respected his reasons for being upset about it, and that's why we removed them from our board too (infact I wasn't even aware they were unofficial versions until I received a pm).

But to then pull the support even though everyone did what was asked was a kick in the teeth and sadly will mean in future that people will think twice, before complying with similar requests.

This is just not correct, the support was already stopped 2 years ago.

The version I wanted you to remove was a hack to support Python 3 and also contained stolen code from the DreamOS version, which was never intended to be used on any other device. This was the main reason why you had to remove it.

I did not stop support afterwards, as said it was already suspended in June 2020, there were no updates since then.
