Hi, I´m not a Linux guy, just a user. I installed the plugin to stream Live Tv from Zattoo.
Now I´m stuck on the point I see the plugin installed, but have no idea what to do next in order to get the Zattoo streams.
I´m on OpenVIX 6.4 on a Gigablue UHD 4k UE.
Could you give a step by step instruction on how to achieve the goal for non Linux experts? That would be very appreciated :-)
Hi, I now updated my GigaBlue UHD 4K UE to OpenVix 6.4.009 and installed the latest Moviebrowser above. On start it asked for settings and all went well. As soon the plugin started updating the database the box get frozen. It freezes on each Movibrowser launch. Could you please help as this is the only plugin I use for movie selection.
TV in background still run, but GUI is frozen
If I delete the DB, then the plugin restarts asking to restore the database. Could this be a API issue?
I'm still using an older version due the incompatibility with OpenVIX 6.1. Indeed in my folders there are other files as you mentioned. Strange.

Hi, the plugin freezes after few clicks on my GigaBlue UHD 4K UE with OpenVix 6.1. Can't select the skin, just "default" is visible. I'm using a HD skin and not Full HD.
is this also working for OpenViX? All versions I tested doesn't work correctly. If you select an event in the multi-graph EPG, press "info" and then select TMDB, it always show the active event only.
No, I just record the video and usually renamed (using the rc7) it on the box using the virtual keyboard. There is no reason to use a PC to rename a video title.

Hi Lululla, the version previously rc9 had on the button 2 the function to change the title instead of changing the poster, etc. Changing the title is a highly desired function as it allows to modify the title easily if you have e.g. German title with ü ö ä, etc. Can you reserve one number key button to change the title?
For changing the title you press text on your remote, click enter and you modify all meta data of your video, including the title..
And this is exactly the new way that is really annoying! The previous version had this function right on key "2" and you could modify the title in the virtual keyboard. very quick and fast. It would be highly desired if we could assign same function to a key. How often do you edit the database? How often do you need to change the title to delete parts or special characters?
Or at least, can you show me where I could reassign "direct title edit" on key "2", so I will just modify my local plugin. Thanks!
There is of course an alternative if you have access from your laptop to your box. You can browse to your box and go to the folder , using ftp
ftp://IP of your box//usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/MovieBrowser/db. There is a file called database. You can open it with a text editor, modify and save the file. Typing on a laptop keyboard is much faster than on a remote.
yes, this is an option, but not comfortable. Example: you record a movie. move it in the right folder and update with Movie Browser. Movie not found due some issue with the Title. with the version rc7 you just press key "2" and you can change the title. Save and it will find the correct TMBD entry. This key assignment has been changed by Kashmir in rc9, don't understood why.

Display Moreactually I'm working on it a bit, I've already put out the skin.xml in separate folders, a check for the fhd, other things removed..
you need to greatly simplify this plugin.. at the moment EMC beats it by a lot

Hi Lululla, thanks for your work on the Movie Browser plugin!! Regarding the EMC, where it beats Movie Browser compared for what Movie Browser was made for? A part EMC is not available for OE-Alliance boxes (like OpenViX). EMC looks horrible to me.
I further tested it: It works great. The main issue is if you set the plugin in FHD Support: Yes, then during a movie view, the skin is zoomed. That means you will not see your infobar and all messages are very big. If you exit the movie browser, 90% the time the skin will revert to normal. Just sometimes it stays zoomend and only a reboot helps.
New movie title searching works great and all in one, the plug in works great on OpenViX 6.2 (OE-A 5). So KiddaC, thanks again! :-)
Yesterday I tested it and from my point of view, it works well. YouTube trailer is useless, as you already recorded the video. YouTube trailer would makes sense in the IMDB plugin when you check the movie content from the EPG.
Sometime yes, in FHD, if you exit the Moviebrowers then the skin is "zoomed" and a skin restart helps. May be you will find some time next year :-)

KiddaC Many thanks! Will test it on the weekend. I also would sponsor a new/updated version and to keep it open source if anyone has interest. I guess, after 10 years it is still the most attractive way to select movies in an very easy way. So lets keep up with it :-)

It works, even in Full HD support, however the system message are really big, but ok. I see some issues with the ü ö ä in the system messages.
Importing new movies, backdrops and posters works. With "key 2" movie title can be modified, perfect! KiddaC, you saved my day!
If you should fine some time to optimize it this would be very appreciated and remunerated.

since Kashmir (RIP), the developer of the unique and fantastic Movie Browser plugin has passed away, there is no valid alternative for Python 3. Please don't come now with EMC & Co, all of this can't compete with Movie Browser in no way. The plug in was so simple and very professional look.
So I'm looking to put together a dev team to develop a new version of Movie Browser, image independent, as the original one, and Python 3 compatible (OE-A 5).
Hope to find some devs interested in the same plugin
