    Hi KiddaC

I did the reversion and the problem is fixed.

I did log a query on the OpenVIX support here: https://www.world-of-satellite…rding&p=494702#post494702

I asked the question why the changes you made could not be made standard (i.e. button assignment) to avoid recoding every time they modify the EPG code. Your button assignment make s a lot more sense that the default. Probably being a bit naive and I will be flamed for even asking I expect :-)

Well I think I removed the "enigma2-plugin-extensions-openvix-epgselection-mod_2.0_all.ipk" using the VIX menus. Initially I tried "opkg remove enigma2-plugin-extensions-openvix-epgselection-mod_2.0_all.ipk" but the output said "no packages removed". I rebooted afterwards but am a bit dubious that is was really removed as the red button in EPG still has the wording "Record" and "Record Series". nevertheless - the jumping back to current time/date in teh EPG persists so I wonder if it is a VIX thing?

If you concur KiddaC then I will log a bug on the OpenVIX support forum and see what they make of it.

Sure - I know that. But that is not the problem.

It is a problem if you are going through the guide and setting lots of timers for the week ahead. It means having to constantly do +24 +24 +24 etc each time you set a recording. It is definitely a bug (either in VIX or a script) as it does not do this in ATV. It should stay at the day/time you just set a recording so that you can then carry on a few hours etc. to do the next recording or go down a couple of channels from the point of the last recording set action.

    cheers,

    Paul

    Hi KiddaC,

I wonder if you would mind advising on an odd little issue I am having with OpenVIX versus OpenATV and the Slyk-Onyx Skin / mods (being that you are a guru when it comes to all things EPG / Skins related).

I have the Skin installed in my VIX image and when I use the guide to go +24 hours (for a couple of days ahead) and then do a recording of a program the EPG seems to reset itself back to today/Now rather than stick at the time/day where the event was set to record. It makes it tricky to see if the event recording was setup correctly without hunting back to the day/time of the event to see if its gone "red". When I did the same thing in openATV (I no longer run openATV) it stuck at the correct day/time.

I was wondering if this might be a feature of VIX versus ATV or if it could possibly be the "EPG Buttons / Tabs Mod" code?

I did switch skins back over to another and it did the same thing but I did not uninstall the "EPG Buttons / Tabs Mod" as it was just a quick and dirty test. With the other skin it did the same thing.

It seems odd indeed but I would prefer to stick with VIX if possible (but if this is a function of VIX then I may have to swap back over to ATV).

    Hope that makes sense?

    Thanks

    Paul

What I am talking about is exactly what is happening. As I explained it is fine if I reboot pure2 but if I am using the openATV image and reboot it will not if a flash drive is inserted. There was a post I found in other place where someone mentioned a similar issue and I assumed this was the case for me too. :-)

https://www.world-of-satellite…hread.php?42270-Multiboot post #8 onwards (I know its for a different box but matches my issue exactly)

I was only using the USB flash drive to watch a few movies (fat32) and don't us it for picons or anything else. I just forgot to unplug it when I was done. I have EPG and picons happily on my internal drive in the H7s. Its not a biggie at all. I just need to remember to remove the drive when I'm done suing it to watch the files on it. I can't help it if its happening - it just is. Other than that the box is running just fine on both pure2 and OpenATV.

Hi I did load the pure2 to start_1 and have it happily multibooting with OpenATV in start_2. The issue with the USB stick preventing boot is possibly a known problem as far as I can tell from searching. It has something to do with multiboot and the USB being quicker to mount that the internal HDD. The box will always try to boot from the first HDD partition but as the USB is quicker it nabs the "First disk" status and, as there is nowt on the stick the box just hangs at "boot". The fix is to unplug it. I think it can be gotten around in pure2 by tweaking the system to use UUID of disks but in OpenATV this is not an option I don't think.

    Cheers,

    Paul

ps. I do have 4 partitions for the images. My system is built to the internal 500Gb hdd I fitted.

Really my reason for asking about this is because the machine refuses to boot (normal boot - not talking about emergency flashing here) with a USB stick inserted into one of the 3 USB ports and it's got me thinking that Start_1 must have an image (but I am probably totally wrong). I am thinking that if Start_1 is empty then the box will, if it has a usb inserted, try to boot from that and not look at the Start_2 from where it is being asked to reboot from in the first place!?!? If I insert a flash drive after booting up to start_2 I can use it fine (to play movies but If I leave it in and restart or deep_standby/start then the box gets to the wording "boot" on the front panel and no further - it hangs at this point like to can't see start_2 or is not even looking for it - its like its looking for an image on the flash drive but its not there and then just hanging. the usb stick itself is fine. I have used it for reflashing using the front panel button technique and all was well).

The reason I got rid of the openvix in start_1 was because when I was in openvix I tried to swap over to start_2 (which had OpenATV) using the menus and it did not boot and I could do nothing (it bricked it). I then had to recover the system using a USB stick and special power button at front of box to reflash OpenATV (as I preferred openATV over OpenVIX).

As soon as OpenATV was up and running I immediately deleted the Openvix in start_1 so I would never make that mistake again :-) Not sure why it did that but it is my first enigma2 box and I had it for all of 2 days and was "testing" and familiarizing myself with the system so I probably did something stupid.

What I plan to do (at some point) is to do as you suggest. Backup_full my OpenATV that is stable and I'm happy with, Flash this to to start_1. I then plan to rename the OpenATV in Start_2 to OpenATV_Testing.

day-to-day boot to Start_1 (now my current image). When I want to play/test new plugins and such I plan to boot to Start_2 - make my tests in there and if all bad then I can delete it and start again but always having my Main (solid) image in Start_1.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Hi,

Does anyone know if it possible to "move" an image from Start_2 to Start_1. I originally had a build on both but settled on the start_2 Image. I removed he Start_1 image. Its all fine but for some odd reason, whenever I pop a fat32 formatted USB stick with movies on it into a USB slot and reboot it hangs at the words "Boot". As soon as I remove the USB it boots fine. Everything is on an internal HDD and the image i want to keep (currently on start_2 is OpenATV 6.3).

Not sure if I need to, or want to, or if this change would stop the issues of booting with the USB inserted. btw. the USB has nothing in the way of images on it. Just not sure if the box is getting upset with an empty Startup_2???

    cheers

Hi KiddaC, You know (in another forum post) I asked about the little blue boxes in the program info and getting the "Tuner Source" into one of them. I wanted to have a go with modding myself (just to satisfy my curiosity). Can you point me in the right direction as to the part of the code please and what I might need to add. If not easy then no problem.

I would like to mod the skin so I can see it in both live TV and in the recordings if at all possible.

    Cheers,

    Paul

It did (once) but now when I press info for a second time it cancels the infobar. however if I click ok and then ok for a second time it seems to bring up more info with the tuner info. I must have buggered up my settings again but I can't see where :-)

It does again now. Thanks for the heads-up KiddaC

    Cheers for the help.

    Paul

One other feature request if I may. My Sat Box is the Zgemma h7s and it has 2x sat and 1x T2 tuner. It would be really really handy if one of the little boxes on the channel info could show which tuner is being used (either A,B,C or DVB-T DVB-S2) . Seems like a small thing but when you are looking to hunt down a recording conflict on the 2 main sat tuners (with the view to setting it to record on DVB-T to avoid the conflict), this information would be really useful.

    Just a thought.

    Thanks

    Paul

Well it is most odd. Some recordings show "viewed" with a tick when finished but other go back to "Recorded" with an arrow

I have toggled most of the settings. I even set "at end" to "ask" and selected "Yes and return to movie list". Sometimes it works and sometimes not.

I just can't get my head around it. I did see this thread: https://www.world-of-satellite…-watched-if-played-to-end

It must be a very specific set of circumstances or something...

    Grrrrrr.....

    :-)

and... I did remove EMC and did a full reboot too. No change.....

    Hi Kiddac,

I love the Onyx skin. Defo the best I have tried. Much appreciated!!

    My setup: Zgemma H7c + openATV v6.3 Skin: Slyk Onyx 1080 v1080_2.25_20191117

    Movie Planner mod: OpenATV- enigma2-plugin-extensions-openatv-movieplanner-mod_2.0_all.ipk

EPG Buttons Mod: OpenATV - enigma2-plugin-extensions-openatv-epgselection-mod_3.0_all.ipk Post Nov 2019

I have one small issue.... I have installed the skin and also installed the "Movie Planner Mod" and "EPG Buttons / Tabs Mod" ipk's but have an issue when looking at my recordings. I am using openatv's default media player (I do also have EMC but have disabled that as advised in your thread "https://www.linuxsat-support.com/thread/124479-updated-slyk-onyx-1080-install-faqs/"

The problem is this... When I watch a program - if I stop it part through then all is good in the display - it shows the "viewed" logo and a part progress bar. The problem arises when I finish a program to the end. The program reverts back to "Recorded" status with an arrow in the circle icon and no progress bar rather than what I would expect ("viewed" status with a tick in the circle icon and 100% progress bar). This is making it impossible to know which programs have been watched as what is displayed is the same as it is for a recorded and unwatched program.

Is this a bug with the Media player or something else? I would prefer to have used EMC - I did try it and all was well (I told it to use your skin) apart from the seek panel when fast forwarding etc. which did not display the start/end progress times properly at the beginning and ends of the progress bar. I quickly disabled it again and reverted back to the built-in player because of that. EMC did however seem to keep track of the "viewed" status at the end of the programs as far as my testing could see.

    Any help most gratefully received.

    Cheers,

    Paul
