I had already tried that.
I also have tried adding dropbadcws = 0 in the global section
Time for a craft beer. I am getting to old for this. I will return later with a clear mind.
Thanks for your help and patients.

To my untrained eye all looks ok except for the last of the log. Server and ports I have modified for obvious reasons.

German channels ran for about 3 seconds when I restarted oscam.
OK. Some success at last. I cut my oscam config down to this. The Web interface is now running again. As you can see I am trying to open some German channels with an N line my friend gave me.

It must be my configs. Never had this before but I am no expert at this.
Top marks for you spotting that.
I used a different unzip sw and reinstalled it. I now ran /usr/softcams/oscam-svn11529-mipsoe20-webif-dvbapi-emu796-upx
and am getting a log type information saying 'bind request failed (Address already in use).
Now this is what I see.
cannot execute binary file: Exec format error
still the same
I think oscam isn't running at all. The box shows a status log with the info button when in softcam manager. It says that it can't find ' oscam-svn11529-mipsoe20-webif-dvbapi-emu796-upx.tar'.
I put it in putty as above with the actual name and it says no such file or directory
When I putty into the box and input /usr/bin/name_of_oscam I get 'no such file or directory'.
Just a thought, do I need to re-name the oscam when I install in in softcams and ch755 it
Hi MasterG. Thanks for the advise.
I installed 11529 as you suggested and removed the old version but for some reason I cannot see oscam with the Web interface. My oscam.cfg seems ok . see below.
When I start oscam manually with the remote control is says 'Active'.
Any ideas.

I didn't try cccam as I thought that only newcamd can now open 098c and 09c4 caid.
I am trying to install the latest oscam 11517 on a tiviar mipsel 5.1 dual core BCM7356 chipset, running vix 5.1. The plugin download facility in the menu only allows for an older version so I have to install manually. Can someone point me to the correct version as I am not having much success with various ones that I have tried.
This is the last lines of the log
Thanks.
You have clarified a lot.
I now have oscam server which looks like

I am using oscam 11420 latest but not seeing pictures.
Hi All,
I received an N line from my mate and i am having difficulty getting it working on my VU+ duo . I have oscam 11420 installed for this purpose ( I normall run mgcamd ).
I have been looking for the configs but came across so many different ones I am confused at this stage. Also do I need DVBAPI file if I don't have a card in my box. My understanding is that I need the 3 files, server, user and config. I am running Vix 5.1.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks s3n0,
That worked perfectly. You were spot on.
Thanks for that.
Will give it a go.
I have an N line from a peer which has a lot of crap and unstable channels for my liking. Only 2 channels are of interest to me, they are C7b0 and D7EA. Is it possible for me to allow these two only on my oscam server and ignore the other crap.
