    I answered if I have CS- and my reply was YES.
    I didn't state I am paying any Server for this.
    So if you would help me and support as this forum is stating- then fine, if not again is fine.
    Hope I was clear enough, buddy

    Hi ,
    I am an old man , so please be patient.
    I have Vu+Duo original box , running BH 1.6.6 image. Would like to update to ver. 2.0.2 using mickey25 Backup file, but as I am not familiar how to do it, I ask your assistance and help.
    I bought my box with already installed image mentioned above, and I am afraid if I go to update to BH ver. 2.0.2 I’ll be unable to return to previous ( my actual image), if something goes wrongly during installation of new Backup file.
    Please let me know what is essential for me to do it.
    I have motorized system 42E-30W.I am living in Podgorica –Montenegro, and by checking my actual settings I’ve seen that Usals is installed.
    I’ve mount my box HD, so bh Personal backup and other settings should be saved on the HD of the box.If I install new image , does data saved on this HD will be erased, and in case of necessity to return to old image again, I can use bh Personal Backup of old image again- so to be in safe side.
    I have CCcam _2.2.1 – so probably I must change this one installed on mickey’s25 file with mine. How to do this, using Filezilla or DC 296
    Also I have CS, so I must establish the line again. Have no idea how to do this
    As settings I am using Vhannibal E2 list.To insert this list in new image, I’d like to use dreamset 238 but I should previously connect my box with PC using DCC 296 – this one will ask for password to connect the box with PC.
    And finally, as I am using LNB solo ( mono) , how I should set my Tuner A and B.
    Hope you will find some time to help me ,
    cordially regards,
    horn

    Please.I need your advice and comment

    You dont need to post them buddy just use dcc to edit the file on the new image & edit all the lines starting config.Nims replacing with what you have now then save & hard reboot the box.

    My actual Tuner configuration on box running BH 1.6.6 are:
    TUNER A: BCM 7335 DVB-S2 NIM
    (INTERNAL) (DVB-S2)
    Positioner: USALS

    TUNER B: not configured
    After right arrow klick
    Mode: Simple
    Longitude: 019.264
    East
    Latitude: 042.441
    North
    May I use this elements to future Tuner config after flashing box with new BH image

    Try to upgrade my Vu+Duo from BH 1.6.6 to BH 1.7.9 but failed because due to difference between kernels installed unable to make bh Personal Backup of BH 1.6.6.
    I have one single LNB and motorized dish with actuator Super Jack 18” connected through Smart switch to Tuner A and second receiver (Echostar) , through I move my dish from 42East to 30 West.
    First problem I faced when flashed BH 1.7.9 was Tuner A and B configuration, I was uncertain how to do it- with USALS or USALS-no, than should I enter my latitude and longitude and so on.
    From one of forums read that is enough to copy :
    config.Nims.0.latitude=42.441
    config.Nims.0.diseqcMode=positioner
    config.Nims.0.powerMeasurement=false
    config.Nims.0.longitude=19.264
    config.Nims.0.configMode=simple
    from BH 1.6.6 settings and paste it to new BH 1.7.9 using DCC 2.96
    To simplify procedure tried to install Beckup 0f BH 1.7.9 full ,for motorized system from Ferret but failed because on DCC 2.96 in spite box connection was O.K. –FTP side was blank.
    Can you advice me please what to do to solve this problem i.e. best way to upgrade from image BH 1. 6.6 to BH 1.7.9

    In connection to the problem exposed in this thread, my question for BH Authors is:
    Why kernels included in BH 1.6.6 and BH 1.6.7 and later BH versions are not compatible between them.
    As I discovered this create problem mentioned in my above posts i.e. impossibility to make bh Personal Backup from previous installed version to any new one.
    Does exist any remedy to solve this inconvenient, or not.
    If not ,that means when passing from BH 1.6.6 to later versions, all settings must be created and set manually.
    Please comment.

    Image upgrade failed again.
    Received this messge:
    "Sorry.Personal Backup found but is not compatible with the new firmware based on the new kernel"
    Now when try to return to my old Image 1.6.6 , procedure is blocked on "programming" and stay on it .....How I can solve this situation , please

    This problem solved- but old BH Image 1.6.6 remain on the STB

    Image upgrade failed again.
    Received this messge:
    "Sorry.Personal Backup found but is not compatible with the new firmware based on the new kernel"
    Now when try to return to my old Image 1.6.6 , procedure is blocked on "programming" and stay on it .....How I can solve this situation , please

    this is the message that appeared to you , ¿ correct ???
    then there is NO CONFUSION except in the head title of your first post.....
    but in the warning it clearly states VU+ SOLO BOOT LOADER
    so you need to pay attention to whether it is a vu DUO or a vu SOLO ,,you cannot mistake one for the other!!!!

    Sorry but I never stated my STB is Vu+Solo- if you read my first post you'll see I wrote I have Vu+Duo.
    Never minde , wht is important - upgrade my image and I am going to do this now.

    Black Hole Vu+ Solo 1.6.7 Kernel 3.1.1 beta2

    Warning: YOU MUST UPDATE VU+ SOLO BOOT LOADER BEFORE TO FLASH THIS IMAGE:

    THIS IMAGE HAS BEEN COMPILED WITH THE NEWEST LINUX KERNEL AVAILABLE FOR OUR BOXES.

    WARNING: THIS IMAGE USES A NEW FILESYSTEM AND IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MULTIBOOT OR WITH OLD PERSONAL BACKUP.

    Thats why I am cofused- Installing before BH 1.6.6- I guess that in the future doing bh Personal Backup will be normal without need to install anything more, but afeter made upgrade to BH 1.7.9- I was unable to make Personal Backup because path to PB "not Found" and then " no compatible".
    I was forced to return to BH 1.6.6 repeating standard procedure with old duo.cfe

    Blackhole 1.6.6 uses the old kernel so your personal backup will not be compatible with later images, as stated in the 1.6.7 release.

    Try to find kernel you mentioned, but only found duo_cfe_cfe.auto ( 280 kb) which seems to be the same as this old one I used when upradeing old BH 1.4 to BH 1.6.6
    Sorry, but I am now confused what s I have to do, shall I repeat same procedure when installing BH 1.6.6 and then after installing old cfe_cfe kernel using USB- instal the newest BH 1.7.9
    Please help me,

    Thanks a lot for your assistance and help.
    As i have Vu+Duo, is procedure same as you mentioned for Vu+Solo, or....
    Please give me the link from where I can dlod this kernel and I hope after tha I'll be able to install BH 1.7.9 and mae Personal backup from HD from my box
