The flash process is the same as for the Os-mio4K which have been already posted by Mike99

1. Please use this link to: | DOWNLOAD | (recovery_emmc) the openATV 6.3 image.

2. Extract the file to a (as small as possible max. 2 GB sized) Fat 32 formatted USB stick,

please check that the "osmio4kplus" directory is in the root directory of your usb stick.

3. Plug in the usb-stick to the rear USB connector of the mio+ 4K, Important: all other USB ports must remain free!

Supply the box with power and if the query on the TV comes up, please confirme with the ok button on the remote control.

4. The flash process starts.

5. When the flash process is finished, the box will restart.

6. Done!

Thanks for your response, I have already tried this twice with 2 different sticks and 2 recovery emmc from openatv and previously reported openpli and follow the usual instructions, dead dog nothing happens, almost bricked in every possible way, I contacted edision and sending back.. Thanks again

Hello, I have Edision Mio+ 4k..

I realized suddenly when i wanted to restart enigma that MULTIBOOT tab is not there?!,i did not mess with anything yet , had four slots normally with four different images and now i am using Openatv on Slot 1.. so i assumed when may be image glitch and will go away after restart so i pressed restart and holy sh&& EDISION logo again on black screen , i encountered it before , so i recycled the power and menu repeatedly till the usual bootloader blue screen to come on and chose another slot as before , BUT INSTEAD NO BLUE SCREEN EVEN .. no Bootloader , so i turned off the STB and waited 30 min and tried again , no HOPE ,, bricked ....

i put recovery openatv image on Flash and pressed power while turning on ,, nothing ..

every trial turned to the same edision logo on black background

do i have failed Bootloader?

do my edision bricked ??

Hi fellows, I am new to Dreambox two, Day 1 actually, I wanted to flash an image after playing with the original image come with, tried to install GP4 plugin but it refused to install, so I decided to flash a whole new image, I already downloaded alot, I got into recovery and follow to flash firmware, unchecked system settings and the two ticks and flashed this (DM4U-DMTWO-T-Gemini-4.1-bak-202107.tar)

Asked REBOOT, AND THEN DREAMBOX LOGO COMES FOR 5 SECONDS and now disappeared and tv source now showing the device is off despite it is on with static BLUE LED WITH DREMBOX LOGO ON ITS MINI SCREEN..

What is wrong?!

I am sure it was correct DM two image?

How to solve that?, how to hard reset that!

It is not a Red led it's BLUE.. PLEASE HELP

There are plenty of images to select from. But if you are not a very skilled person stay clear of all the unofficial OpenAlliance images.

Yes there is a diffrence when it comes to the package system (ipk and deb)

If you are a Linux user then the deb package system should not be a problem, If not then you learn fast

Most plugins works just fine but there are plugins for Open Alliance that does not work and vice versa.

If you are using E2iPlayer then Dreambox is not for you. But instead you can use MediaPortal.

In the end if you want something new then go for the Dreambox Two UHD. If you like what you have and only want and HW upgrade go for the Vu+Duo4Kse

If you really want something new stick with your Edison and wait for the Dreambox Seven

Really Woow 👌, you have already answered every aspect of my inquiry in just a few words, thanks alot bro,, I will stick with edision for now, as I can see that, and for you knowledge, it serves me well and I am not ready YET for this hard time I will face for sure with dreambox two, regarding bootloader and these kind of hard stuffs that will eventually will end up tossing it in the garbage, or break the TV..

One last question please🙏🏻, what is so attractive and noval in dreambox seven rendering you to recommend and worth the wait over DM two?!, aren't they the same? I know it is the successor of 920 with upgraded cpu and CI and Ssd, I mean what is the reason to pick this particular upgrade for me..

The edison os mio 4k is renowned as having one of the best blind scan tuners in the e2 range.

No e2 device plays 4.2.2 feeds directly, and i doubt it will happen anytime soon either.

First thanks for the reply, Second, Blind scan as you said is perfect but it is not a daily practice function as I did not use it couple of times only, regarding DM I googled already and I think all comments turns around about new 2.6 compatibility with plugins and dab vs ipk issues, and not as easy as open source e2, but I assume picture quality is top!.do you concur?! Or heard of that?.

Also duo is so big for my taste.

Hi everyone, I own Edision mio+ 4k,and everything is okay with it regarding picture quality, various supporting images and feed hunting..

My ego and selfish need to try Dreambox two and the new 2.6 with its powerful 53k DMIPS cpu keeping me restless! 😊🙄

Please advice, with my questions :

1-Should I upgrade ?! Or should I stay with edision?

2- is Dream Os is of any good?

3-does DM two support other images? Even if not official. What are the best ones?

4-as been told before, does picture quality is away better in DM compared to Edision?

5-does it play Feed 4:2:2 Directly??!

Finally I am leaning to Dreambox cause it is future proof, New 2.6, New image, snappy performance, new turbo cpu.. These all benefits are not in vu+ duo and I feel that vu+ is just new premium of which I have already own (open source), but DM is in another league..

I want your recommendation for my first Enigma receiver. I was digging for whole week and understood the main frame of this linux world, thinking to invest in cheaper model till I fully understand all aspects and I know that DM & Vu+ are the top, but Is it really matter?! Are all the same?!

My concerns and please answer this 🙏🏻

1-is Broadcom better 4k quality than Hisilicone??? By far??

2-is Hisilicone laggy as in octagon sf8008?? Or is this specific brand?? Is there a solution..?

My preferances as follows,

1-affordable cheaper is better but sadly I can pay extra for Vu+, if it is cost effective by far?!

2- 4k quality between them, a noticeable difference?

3- Dvb-s2x only?

4-perfect tuner for motorized 180cm dish?

If something extra rather than the poll option, please tell me 🙏🏻
