In June, it was revealed that uTorrent's forums had been hacked, putting at risk the personal details of hundreds of thousands of users. Now it being reported that the database has been put up for sale on a darknet marketplace. The package is said to contain almost 395,000 accounts but data is cheap. The asking price? Just one bitcoin.
With more than 150 million users a month, uTorrent is by far the most popular torrent client in the West.
This popularity and the need for technical support means that parent company BitTorrent Inc. needs to maintain a community forum. With tens of thousands of visitors each day, it too is quite popular. However, it recently came to light that information the site held on its users was no longer secure.
In June, the uTorrent team issued a security alert which advised users to change their passwords. According to one of uTorrent’s vendors, a compromise of uTorrent’s database had occurred following a security issue elsewhere.
“The vulnerability appears to have been through one of the vendor’s other clients, however it allowed attackers to access some information on other accounts. As a result, attackers were able to download a list of our forum users,” uTorrent said at the time.
Since then things have gone pretty quiet but according to information just published, the problems might be about to get worse.
According to Hackread, the uTorrent database obtained during the breach has now gone up for sale on a darknet marketplace. Offered for sale by a user called “DoubleFlag”, it is said to contain emails and passwords from the forum.
“Out of a total of 394,769 accounts, some passwords are encrypted with Secure Hash Algorithm 1 (SHA-1) and some with the weak MD5 hashes,” the publication reports.
As can be seen from the screenshot above, the asking price is pretty low considering the number of accounts involved. The seller is asking just BTC 0.9580 ($602) for the data, which may (or may not) be an indication of its usefulness.
Another interesting detail coming out of this offer of sale is the claim from DoubleFlag that the data was obtained from uTorrent back in January. That’s a full six months in advance of the security alert from uTorrent.
The same January date is claimed by Haveibeenpwned.com, but that site states that ‘just’ 34,235 accounts have been compromised.

Brazzers goes to cleaners as hackers leak nearly 800,000 porn site accounts
If you are a Brazzers fan, you should be worried! The very popular porn website’s forum was hacked and the hackers have access to 800,000 Brazzers accounts. The data breach of Brazzers forum puts Brazzers users who never signed up also at risk as the forum database is said to have their details as well.
The cache of Brazzers accounts contains 790,724 unique email addresses, and also includes usernames and plaintext passwords. The details were verified by Motherboard and found to be authentic. Motherboard said that Vigilante.pw sent them the database for verification purposes.
Motherboard was helped by Troy Hunt of Have I Been Pwned? to verify the leaked Brazzers data. The website that was hacked is BrazzersForum. It is not connected to the main Brazzers website but users use the forum to discuss porn.
“It’s unfortunate that my information was included in the breach, but that’s the risk you run making an account anywhere on the web,” a Brazzers user, who asked to remain anonymous, told Motherboard in an email.
Another user whose email was included in the data, called John, wrote, “I used throwaway login/pass for this very reason.”
Matt Stevens, public relations manager from Brazzers, told Motherboard in an email, “This matches an incident which occurred in 2012 with our ‘Brazzersforum,’ which was managed by a third party. The incident occurred because of a vulnerability in the said third party software, the ‘vBulletin’ software, and not Brazzers itself.”
“That being said, users’ accounts were shared between Brazzers and the ‘Brazzersforum’ which was created for user convenience. That resulted in a small portion of our user accounts being exposed and we took corrective measures in the days following this incident to protect our users,” Stevens added.
At the time of writing, Brazzersforum is displaying an “under maintenance” message, and is unavailable to users.

VPN provider Perfect Privacy has had two of its servers seized by Dutch police, as part of an active investigation. Police bypassed the VPN service and went directly to the company's hosting provider, I3D, who complied with a subpoena requesting the hardware. At the time of writing, it remains unclear why the servers in question were taken.
kayboardVPN services are a great tool for people who want to increase their privacy and security online.
While most people use them for legitimate purposes, VPNs are also frequently linked to nefarious activity, as criminals prefer to stay anonymous online too.
As a result, VPNs regularly come up when police investigate online crime. This is also what appears to have happened with two servers that were leased by VPN provider Perfect Privacy.
A few days ago the company informed its customers that two of its servers had been seized by the police in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The authorities went directly to the hosting company I3D and the VPN provider itself wasn’t contacted by law enforcement.
“Currently we have no further information since the responsible law enforcement agency did not get in touch with us directly, we were merely informed by our hoster,” Perfect Privacy says.
Despite losing control over two servers, Perfect Privacy assures its customers that no personally identifiable data is present on the seized hardware. Like many other VPNs, the company maintains a strict no-logging policy.
“Since we are not logging any data there is currently no reason to believe that any user data was compromised,” the VPN provider says.
TorrentFreak reached out to I3D, who told us that they can’t comment on any specifics. However, the hoster stresses that it handles these type of requests in compliance with the law, while keeping the interests of their customers in mind.
“When the Dutch police contact us with a subpoena, we work with them in a professional manner and ensure their request and our responses are in compliance with the Dutch law,” I3D informs us.
“We think with the affected customer as well, for example by making temporary capacity available so the customer does not suffer extended downtime during the investigation.”
Perfect Privacy confirms that they are happy with how I3D handled this issue. Two replacement servers were quickly put in place meaning that the seizures didn’t result in any significant downtime.
In any case, it is good to see that the provider in question is being open about what happened. Unfortunately, that’s not always obvious for companies in this position.

Are you positive Eleven HD (the 13 east version) is showing EPL this season mate ? I only ask I see nothing listed on LJ's site, also I did some googling and had a look at the official sites and can only see it as an official streaming service
It would be great if it did as the signal is really strong and it seems to clear nicely too

I run the very latest version of Black Hole, however for streamlined performance with minimum bloat (no kodi etc....) I find 2.1.7 the best version I used

Hi Nick, thanks for the reply
It is a different channel, not the ones on 23.5e, not the Hungarian or Romanian versions
It's the Slovakian version on 0.8w, it is totally independent of the rest
-
Hi prophet mate, i am unable to clear this channels at present but digi sport h 1 hd hu and romania both clear so it looks like you may be correct.
thank you for the confirmation mate, seems it's exactly as I feared, you are the 4th person to confirm this now, a very sad day for us
-
Sorry Prophet m8. I went to test this channel only to find I have lost the digi channels and others. I had to move my dish last month for some building work at my house. I thought I had put it back correctly but I seem to have lost a couple of satellites and a few channels on a lot of the satellites I thought I had alligned properly. Looks like I`ll be sorting the dish at the weekend. So I am unable to test until then.
Sorry.
bo.Hey bo, thanks for the reply mate, appreciate it, yes good luck with the alignment, not easy with the crappy weather at the moment
Hopefully it's not been paired but I have a strong feeling it has, it was one of the very best for EPL as well with 90+% signal on a 1 metre dish
-
Hey all, been viewing this channel for a long time thanks to a kind person who shared with me
I notice this afternoon it went dark, signal is 90%, checked with the person who said no problems as far as they can tell
Is anyone else able to test this channel on 0.8w ??
I have a nasty suspicion it may have gone hardware paired, I truly hope I am wrong
Please note the Slovakia (SVK) shows different content to the Hungary and Romania variants
TY in advance

In recent months CloudFlare has been called out repeatedly for offering its services to known pirate sites, including The Pirate Bay. These allegations have now resulted in the first lawsuit after adult entertainment publisher ALS Scan filed a complaint against CloudFlare at a California federal court.
As one of the leading providers of DDoS protection and an easy to use CDN service, Cloudflare is used by millions of sites across the globe.
This includes many “pirate” sites who rely on the U.S. based company to keep server loads down.
The Pirate Bay is one of the best-known customers, but there are literally are thousands of other ‘pirate’ sites that use services from the San Francisco company.
As a result, copyright holders are not happy with CloudFlare’s actions. Just recently, the Hollywood-affiliated group Digital Citizens Alliance called the company out for helping pirate sites to stay online.
Adult entertainment outfit ALS Scan agrees and has now become the first dissenter to take CloudFlare to court. In a complaint filed at a California federal court, ALS describes piracy as the greatest threat to its business.
The rise of online piracy has significantly hurt the company’s profits, they argue, noting that “pirate” sites are not the only problem.
“The problems faced by ALS are not limited to the growing presence of sites featuring infringing content, or ‘pirate’ sites. A growing number of service providers are helping pirate sites thrive by supporting and engaging in commerce with these sites,” ALS writes (pdf).
These service providers include hosting companies, CDN providers, but also advertising brokers. The lawsuit at hand zooms in on two of them, CloudFlare and the advertising provider Juicy Ads.
According to the complaint, both companies have failed to cut their ties with alleged pirate sites, even though they received multiple takedown notices.
CloudFlare and Juicy Ads’ terms state that they terminate accounts of repeat infringers. However, according to ALS both prefer to keep these sites on as customers, so they can continue to profit from them.
“Even though the law requires parties to terminate business with repeat infringers, and even though both Juicy Ads and Cloudflare’s own terms
state that they will terminate business with repeat infringers, neither Juicy Ads nor Cloudflare has terminated its business accounts with these chronic direct infringers.“On information and belief, this is because Juicy Ads and Cloudflare make money by continuing to do commerce with sites that draw traffic through the lure of free infringing content,” the company writes.
The complaint lists Imgchili.net, Slimpics.com, Cumonmy.com, Bestofsexpics.com and Stooorage.com and CloudFlare customers that host copyright infringing material from ALS, and as of today these sites are still using the CDN provider’s services.
Juicy Ads reportedly terminated the accounts of several infringing sites after they learned about the lawsuit, but that doesn’t mean that it can escape liability for its earlier actions.
ALS holds both companies responsible for various counts of copyright and trademark infringement, for which it demands actual and statutory damages. With hundreds of works at stake, theoretical damages can run to dozens of millions of dollars.
Both CloudFlare and Juicy Ads have yet to file a formal response to the allegations.
