My short list has come down to these two receivers: Gigablue 800 HD SE with hybrid tuner and Amiko Alien 2 Triple Tuner.
Apart from the triple vs double difference, I'm mainly concerned about which of these two will probably get support from both the company and the community for longer time.

Gigablue is a MIPS processor, E2, with more support now, but I'm doubting that the new Quad may prevent new updates for software in near future. Am I wrong?

Regarding the Amiko, is not MIPS based, the current E2 seems to be in alpha stage yet.

What can you tell me about this choice, considering that I'd also like to have the receiver as a server?

I really would like to have an open-source receiver/server. Openbox is cheap but seems to have some issues. Maybe Amiko or other Spark/Linux box?
Can you present a list of three of four boxes that are the best price for value, with sat receiver (preferably with digital terrestrial)?

    Hi all,

I was looking to Ferguson Ariva 150 combo (satellite and Digital terrestrial), but it seems that it's difficult to have it behave as a server.
I'd like to know what other combo receiver/server you could recommend for a price similar or a bit higher than Ariva 150 combo.
The goal was to reshare to another person and also to stream by ethernet to computer via vlc plugin or similar.
