After some trial and error I've got it working. I took the tuner configuration off simple mode and put it in advanced and set the power to the LNB manually. To get the power running, I had to open the sat locator option in tuner configuration and the power began to flow. It looks as though a tune failure when the box is turned on stops the power from running.

The only thing there that I haven't tried is the settings_config mode. I have both input A and B set to simple for Astra 28.2, I'll give that a go. Failing that I'll just buy a battery powered sat finder.

Na, there's no braid around any of the connectors. I've tried to hook up the sat finder directly to the back of the box and it still won't switch on. I've tried to tune it off the tuner signal menu too but I can't get anything. I've also tried to feel for static around any metal when the box is fully hooked up to the lnb but nothing. Could it be a fault with the box? It was working fine before I moved.

    Hi,

I've moved house and am trying to set up a new dish. I bought a basic sat finder which is meant to be powered by the receiver, but when I connect it to my VU DUO, it doesn't work. I've tried two different ones now and nothing. Is there a particular mode I need to set the box to so that it will power the sat finder? I'm running VIX 3.0.

    Thanks for looking.

No luck, I've updated to the latest build and even changed the hdmi port being used. Whenever I turn my box on it also turns the TV on, but the TV goes to the built in channels. Really confused as it worked perfectly on BH.

Yeah, I've tried that and it didn't work. I've just found out though that I'm running an old build of VIX 3.0 (build 204) as I was having other issues too. I'm going to try a newer build tonight.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

I changed my image from BH to Vix 3.0 over the weekend and am having trouble setting up the HDMI CEC that's built into the settings of VIX. On black hole it was set as a plug in and worked perfectly. Now with the built in VIX version, when I turn the box on, I have to get my TV remote to manually select the HDMI port the box is connected to. I have a Panasonic LCD tv, not sure if that's the issue but it worked fine on blackhole?

Does anyone know where I'm going wrong or can someone link me to a download for the HDMI CEC plugin that I can access from the plug in menu?

    Thanks

    Hi,

The epg is set to be saved to the harddrive, it did default back to the internal flash at one point, but I set it back.

I double checked last night and the hardrive is properly mounted, I'm able to FTP to it. I'm thinking it may be worth doing a new install.

    Hi,

Not a serious issue, just annoying, but every time I want my downloaded EPG data to update my 7 day EPG list I have to restart my box, which is a VU Duo by the way. I never used to have this issue, but I can't seem to resolve it. I have my EPG set up to update at 4am every morning and save the date to the hard drive. Does anyone know where the issue may lie?

    Thanks

I forgot to mention that I'm running blackhole 1.7.8

I just happened to use hard reset, it was doing it after green screening as well. Some of the things I tried to do in the TS panel was causing the box to green screen and wipe the HD data. I've set up 1.7.8 from scratch now and it seems to be working. The thing that seems to be throwing it is that the back up was creating three folders "Harddisk", "Internal Flash" and then "Samsunghdd". When the box crashes or is reset all the folders for EPG and movie etc are dumped into "samsunghdd" and the "harddisk" folder is deleted. It's a weird one.

I've set the box up differently now and it seems to be working well. Thank you for all your help.

Thanks, I gave it a go but it didn't work. Once the harddrive is mounted, I then need to set up the cross EPG from scratch as there are no default setting. It's not just the EPG data that moved into the samsunghdd folder, any recordings do too, and the default "harddrive" folder created by BH dissapears.

I put this backup on my box last night, everything was going well until I did a hard reset. After the reset, the box restarted as usual, however the record/pause function wasn't working, and the EPG data had gone. I checked the hard drive file directory and the "harddisk" file automatically created by this image had disappeared.

I have a standard 160GB internal hard drive connected to the box and on initialisation the hard drive directory appears as “samsungddr”, but when I begin to set up this image with EPG and record functionality, it creates a new folder separate to the standard hard drive directory called “Harddrive” which saves all the relevant EPG and record data.
The above set up works fine until the box is reset, either by using the hard reset, or a reset from the green screen. When the box reboots, the “harddrive” directory folder has gone and it looks as though the EPG and recorded data is transferred to the default “samnsungddr” folder. Once this happens, the image cannot then find the relevant data for EPG and the record/pause functionality doesn’t work.

To repair the problem I have to initialize the hard drive and start from scratch, but as soon as the box crashes I’m back to square one.

I was having this issue with the other backup image you put up too, so tried this backup thinking it was a bug with the older version of black hole. This hasn’t happened to me before using blackhole. My previous settings, which were working fine didn’t have the TS panel, or the settings that allow me to see box office and interactive channels.

Sorry for the length of this post, I wanted to give as much information as I could though. Any help would be appreciated, I like your back ups.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Not to sure if this app is meant to stream games? I'm trying to access the "Soccer on satellites" option and it gives me an error "Website server failed to handle your request....."

    Any ideas?

    Thanks all

    Hi guys,

I'm using a Duo with BH 1.7.8 on 28.2E. I have over 900 services but I can't see the sly box office channels anywhere, not even in under the "all" channels section. I've changed the sat folder under the (green button) satellites option in the channel list and still can't see them. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm using the latest version of Flipflop bouquets too.

    Thanks

Following this post I find this a bit confusing. The mount manager on the duo is to mount devices like hard disks but ftp is used to communicate to duo from a pc/mac - so they are not really related
The info shows that your hard disk at ip address 192 etc is not mounted, but why call it VUDUO and is the server share name /media/hdd on the pc/mac?
Anyway You said you could connect to the duo but only in temp folder so it looks like a ftp setup problem. I use flashxp (v 4.0.0 which allows SSH logins and more)

To access the hard drive via FTP the appropriate mount needs to be set, as without an appropriate mount point there would be nowhere for the FTP to connect. For instance with Black Hole, what I am now using, the FTP connection is not visible until the hardisk is mounted. It's the same principle with VIX, however the standard mount settings as shown above only allow for read only access, and I'm not able to make changes to the mount settings. In Black Hole, the standard mount settings give full access to the appropriate files.

Thanks for the recommendation on the FTP software, I'll give it go, although I have tried using OSX and Windows solutions without success.

Just a quick update... I haven't been able to get this fixed :(! I have tried a direct wire FTP and using differnt operating systems and nothing. I also checked and telnet is running fine on my box.

I think the issue is with the mount point, the mount points are as follows:

    NFS: /media/hdd
    NFS: /media/usb/
    NFS: /media/hdd2

Each mount has a red cross above the drive thumbnail. Also when I select mount management I get the following settings:

Mount using FSTAB (mount using linux)
    Active enable
    Local Share name VUDUO
    Mount type NFS share
    Server IP 192. etc
    Server share /media/hdd
    use as HD rep No
    Mount options RW,nolock,tcp

I think my problem lies with these settings, when I try to add a username and password, it allows me to do so, but doesn't save the settings and reverts back to the above. I have now flashed with blackhole, and all works fine, including FTP.

If anyone has any other suggestions I'd be grateful as I prefer VIX.
