hopefully i'm on the right thread for this one.

I was getting some tuner error messages coming up on screen and also while autobouquetsmaker was scanning and ending in error. Then on channel scan is errored also so i then attempted to reimage.

as part of the vix reimage (on maxdigital xp1000) it now seems to be unable to do scan, but i think this is because it cant seem to configure my tuner. the sat dish is fixed. i've no idea what the problem is. i only really use crossepg and autobouquetsmaker. but i've never had this problem before where it cant seem to configure my tuner, very strange.

anyone have any suggestions for me ?

Hi folks,

I have a problem with my bouquets.
I might flick into Kids / Sports / FTA bouquets, all good but when i hit EPG and try sly UK HD EPG or sly ROI/NI HD EPG it might display a kids or sports bouquet but not the one I thought i was getting .... has anyone any suggestions as to what may be causing this and what I can do to fix it ?

If i have an older version, what should i do to update to latest version ?
Also, most movies i try to play, will play for 5 -20 secs only and shut out to /media/usb/ directory with epg.dat highlighted, any ideas how i resolve this so that i can play any movie in full ?

I'm having a problem using 1channel plugin, that each time i go in a box freeze will occur after i exit. I'll attach log (and if i am in wrong thread, can someone redirect me, thanks).

Another problem is that after i try reboot i lose my non-fta sly uk channels !! which is annoying.

I've just came on this and can now see reason for a setup issue i was having last night, plus now tonight the exact same thing has happened on my maxdigital...1channel has froze my box also...only think is that on reboot, the sly uk channels are not coming on !!! v. frustrating

for some strange reason this has started to work today without me having to do anything further. I had rebooted the box each time i made a change last night, but today it is just decided to accept my changes, unless server was playing up last night or something.

well so far so good....so now time to get in there and learning about enigma2 :) :)

that might make sense, originally i edited the newcamd.list as follows, keeping the 2 dummy lines in there but adding my nline as did for a previous different non-enigma2 box, but as you can see anyway that had lan wording at the end also

I've put masterG VIX3.0 image on to my new Maxdigital XP1000. I've inserted my nline into the newcamd.list in /usr/keys

still no success after the above, i've checked my mgcamd_138 is active on Softcam Manager. I have to be getting close !?!?!? any further suggestions ?
also, i should add, i've seen stuff out there about an ipk file for mgcamd, but i'm not sure what or where i get it....on my image there may be a requirement to install local extension for this ?

I'm getting an enigma2 box, but i still like the idea of having a wee back-up box to play around with sometimes, i think i just got a bad one, my bro-in-law and mates have the X3 and never had an issue. So, i can't really identify the issue, which is why i'd like to offer it out to someone for a short while, someone who knows a lot more about the box than me and if someone can fix it, well obviously i'd like it back, but sure i'd give a small fee. i don't want to put anyone out, but some of you like to delve into the electronic side of these boxes and might be capable of doing a repair, just thought i'd put it out there

by the way, i tried replacing my thermistor, but to no avail - it is still showing a failed signal message.

before i throw my openbox X3 on the scrapheap, would anyone be able to suggest someone that could look at it for me or take it themselves to have a play on and try and see if it can be repaired. I am putting a certain element of trust in someone here and if it can be fixed a small fee would be forthcoming.

so my openbox X3 has gave in after only about three or four months, i had a failed signal issue and i had a new thermistor put in but it did not help.
I liked the box because for a newbie like me i was able to do pretty much all the setting up (of course after using linuxsat-support tutorial threads etc :feel_good:)

i know there are other boxes available which have recording and good epg and are not too difficult in setting up.

I have a budget of approx £150, so I'd really appreciate some advice or suggestions as there are quite a few options available. I did feel with the £60 box that something was going to fail eventually, so another thing i want is something that is solid and reliable ?

All suggestions warmly apprecciated,

i've opened up my box, and this thermistor he talks about, well the legs on mine are completely bent! I'm 100% sure its a thermistor I am looking at as it says F1 beside it. now because it has bent legs does that mean its buggered though ?!

I've a photograph taken of mine which i will try to attach here for you to see what i am talking about

ok, this flashing of the backup good image on to the broken box has made no difference.
as it is then likely to be some kind of hardware issue, would anyone be willing to take a look at it for me or able to recommend someone ?

whenever i flash new image on to the box, i use the lan network tool so i wouldn't be getting asked to confirm any of the above

I've checked all settings, connections, reflashed image, factory reset, pretty much exhausted all avenues, signal checker up on the dish, everything !

ok, until two days ago i had a perfectly working x3. then yesterday the picture was terrible all day, glitching and jumpy. until eventually it now shows nothing. all the time now showing no signal message. the SNR quality is 4 - 5 % whereas it should be 75 or so.

Now I've a backup openbox x3 and it is working perfectly, not a problem.

Now on the 'broken' box, can anyone help to shed any light ? i'm assuming i have a hardware problem inside the box.

Alibaba1802, what exactly EPG switching problem if you don't mind ?

On openbox X3 after setting up a recording session to my USB is it then possible to change channels and watch other stuff ?

another example. i'm watching the start of a match but i've set up to record emmerdale which are on at the same time, but the tv then switches channel from the football to emmerdale ?

can this be prevented somehow?
