prior to starting this thread I had read the thread here Getting Started - Flines & Clines For Beginners
I have had a search around, also looking through many threads and do try look for answers before i ask the question, which is why it took me an an eon setting up my ubuntu server. I have had a look at links from your post and am none the wiser but thats maybe cause i'm not the brightest button. I dont want to be spoon fed or an a-z how to do things, but sometimes need a little nudge in the right direction
The question I wanted asking from this thread was "say he used my own cline on his server for his peers to use, how would this affect the stability of my server if he has say like 50 peers connecting to his server?"

have a server set up and running have read numerous threads but dont fully understand how the sharing works.All my lines are 0 0 0 { 0:0:2 } which I know allows one reshare. Out of the 10 lines I have in my server there is only one person who isnt a friend or family member. This guy is a respected member on another forum and gave me help setting up a dm500 server when I first started out and in return I gave him a cline as a thank you. Although he has his own server I asked asked him to use it for his own personal viewing.

sorry to jump into thread but rather than start my own thought i would keep it here as its basically same.
so say, mickm1 has sly to share and is wanting setenta sports on his server to share with his 8 family members. Obviously he will need a cline share that allows his peers to connect to his server and watch setanta.How would that be configured from the guy he's getting share from. Likewise in return mickm1 gives the guy a share cline for his sly server, how would that be configured? Hope this makes sense. -

same happened to me just the other day, just rebooted server again and the new setting kicked in. -
Just to confirm , now have usb hub and mhz=686 in oscam.server and getting 79ms response! Thanks new2!
hi m8 what usb powered hub are you using? I have set pc up with ubuntu and got it working ok s a server but I did notice the ecm times were higher than my dm500 server, which I am still using. May as well get a powered usb hub before I actually start using the ubuntu server.

Hi ddaddy, sorry for late reply I have been on hols.My friends are connected to my server but they aren't seeing my card. My own 2 local shares on my recievers arent able watch channels via my new server.
I think I may have the answer which I will try out when I have more time. I changed the x86ccam 2.13 file for x86 2.14 in the cccam + oscam auto install package. Will post back when I have a chance to try it out again. -
dont know if it is useful but clients dm800 shows connected to server but zero cards

This will allow them to view your local only with no reshare, if they are using a pc server or have
minimum downhops 1
enabled in their own box cccam.cfg this will explain why they cannot see your card.
Change it to 0 0 0 { 0:0:2 } and ask your peer if they can now see the card.
done what you suggested but still no joy.Been at this since 5:30 am. I only have family/friends connecting to me using dm500/800's and their boxes are soleley used as a client.

ok, the reader shows the entitlements. the lines were made with ccam line manager e.g C: wizzy.dyndns.org 55555 below 10 F: below 10 0 0 0 { 0:0:1 }
I only have flines for clients in cccamcfg, do I need to put them somewhere else?? Something in my head is telling me i need to put 1 fline somewhere else, sure I read it somewhere -

it was the auto install tutorial from here http://linuxsat-support.com/li…-installation-ubuntu.html .Listen port is open, static ip set. In server tab it shows one card although the entitlements tab shows nothing. The flines have been copy n pasted from the cfg file in my dm500 which I have been using as my server.In cccam server I can see clients who are connected to me. -

I have spents many hours trying to set up server using ubuntu and am at the point where i have ubuntu 10.04 installed, cccam+oscam installed. I am using a smargo connected directly in to the pc and it seems to be reading the sly card as it shows 1 card in the ccam server and clients are connecting but showing 0 cards, so i think the issue maybe cccam and oscam not connectiing to each other.I can log into both servers.from oscam log "connection closed to client, cccam disconnected from 127.0.0.1, thread ********".
Would really appreciate any input on thi, thanx in advance
