I think it's important this comes out... People need to see and hear the facts of what vix do and how they operate and try to bully. Now the forum has sold their soul to WoS (we all know that WoS and vix are one of the same) does that now mean that they can no longer be questioned ? If that is the case then you can go ahead and close my account.

Bad magic number = Mismatch in python versions.

You will need to find a version of TS panel that works with the python version on the image you are using

There are worse boxes than the Alien2 ..... Gigablue, TM800, or indeed anything Technomate + Linux ... SH4 receivers have far better PQ than any MIPS box i have come across and i've had a few of each.
Best for picture quality was my Kathrein UFS910 with the Aliens very close to it .... don't believe all the hypr surrounding MIPS ..some MIPS boxes have been complete garbage also

But like anything you have good and bad experiences and you can only speak as you find ...

If you are using a DVB-T tuner then you won't pick up the HD signals on Saorview .. you will only get the SD ones.

it means the plugin was built for a python version that your box does not support.

eg Plugin could be built using python version 2.7 but your box only supports 2.6 version

You could look for a plugin using a different python version or update your image in your box to a newer version (if it supports the python version)

So that's what you need to do... Put the plugin in the /tmp directory. Make sure it's in this directory and not anywhere else.
You can also use the manual commands mentioned earlier in the thread but in all cases make sure the file is in the / tmp directory.

tmp folder is there by default... I suggest you relook at where you are installing the ipk file and understand then what command to use. The correct commands have been given in this thread so it's likely that you have put the IPK in the wrong location.

That's nothing to do with Oscam emulator then. It could be an LNB issue where the ultimo is a more sensitive tuner than your *** box. Or an issue with your HDD depending on how it's formatted. Check what the signal level and quality level is like on the channel with artifacts on it.

Never had an issue with the boot loader with the SHD8900, I don't believe it's the same issue as with the Alien2 so no need to do anything with the bootlader afaik

Also depending on what firmware you are using the Oscam bin file could look in various locations for your config. Some will look in var/tux box/config and others in var/keys

If you want to link it to FAV button on the remote then you need to look at Keymap.xml file as a start ... search there for KEY_FAVORITES and you can see what it is currently mapped to ... be careful what you do though as you could potentially break the button mapping ..so make a back up of the file before doing anything else.

Maybe easier to run the 'top' command in telnet to see what process it's struggling with. Or type 'free' or 'df' in telnet to see what space you have left.
