    I eventually gave up on EDG-nemesis. The image was just too fragile, any sort of software install or sometimes just a setting change would result in crashes...eventually to the point where it just didn't boot.


    So back to PLi, it's rock solid and I have picons on the infobar when zapping channels BUT...Still no picons in coolEPG! Argh!


    So the image sees the icons in /media/hdd/picon but coolEPG doesn't, I'm still tearing my hair out and believe me, I don't have much left.


    Any thoughts?

    I've got it on the hard disk at the moment.... /media/hdd/picon


    I've tried it on a USB pen as well...still no joy.


    Oddly enough, I downloaded a different set of picons last night, licher or something, and the infobar displayed a "dream multimedia" logo on all channels instead of a "nemesisHD" logo so SOMETHING changed but I'll be dammned if I can figure out what.

    It's a DM800HD SE mate. Sim 2.10 and bootloader 84b. The image is..."Nemesis2-6-dm800se-SVN-110r0-ramiMAHER.nfi"


    The display of picons on the OLED screen actually works but only displays the default logo because it's not picking up the picon folder, or not recognising it or not knowing where to look or whatever the problem is. It's actually the display in coolepg and the infobar that I'm after, I'm not too fussed about the OLED.


    EDIT: Forgot to say, my box is a clone but that shouldn't really matter...at least I don't think it should.

    I recently moved to the nemesis image v2.6 and generally I'm pretty hapy with it. There are a couple of things irritating me though... :)


    After downloading coolepg (which works fine) I can no longer access the audio options via the yellow button and I have searched and searched for a way to remap the yellow button back to it's previous function but can't find it anywhere, any ideas?


    The other thing is I can't get picons to work, which was a breeze under Pli. They are all there in media/hdd and restarted but still no joy :(


    Any advice much appreciated.


    EDIT: Fixed the button issue, settings were in the coolepg menu not the nemesis menus.


    Damn picons is really getting under my skin though. media/hdd/picon and they are all there...what am I missing?

    Just in case anyone is interested, another strange thing happened yesterday, 10 locals suddenly showed up in his stats. Suspicion got the better of me and I removed his line. I don't THINK he's a member here.

    Looking for some advice/explantion...


    I have a peer who's line exhibits strange behaviour.


    1) Peer is listed in CCcaminfoPHP as being from Russia yet the ping time is faster than a peer in the same coutry as me and on the same network.
    2) his line clears Sly Moovies and Sly Spoarts yet doesn't show in his list of available shares.
    3) His usage is very high, about 9-10 times higher than anyone else.


    Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Any thoughts?

  • Bad peer forum

    Is it worth having something like this?


    I'm actually torn regarding this issue because while the forum remains relatively small, there is a large degree of trust, however the forum is growing daily and many new members are making their first post a share request. Nothing wrong with that per se but there is a ever increasing danger of nefarious goings on.


    My optimistic side of me would love for a bad peer forum to be unnecessary, the more cynical side of me feels that it might just be needed, if not now, then perhaps soon.

  • eagle box problem

    I had a weird problem with mine freezing and rebooting seemingly at random. Turned out the satellite coax cable's internal wire was sticking out too much (if that makes sense), pushed it in a couple of millimetres and fine now. It's a good box but sometimes it is a little bit sensitive and fragile.


    Might just be worth checking out.

    I had thought about that, I noticed they are going on ebay for around the ?140-180 mark. Trouble is I guess, the quality will range from decent through to abysmal.


    I would certainly welcome any seller recommendations, I'm more than happy to support good sellers who have furnished people here in the past.

    Can you tell me what you mean by "cant act as server"? I always thought for sharing to be reciprocal there had to be both client and server components (cline/fline).

    I've got a wee Eagle box DM500 clone which has served me bloody well for the price but the time has come for a shiny new HD capable satbox, with CCCam abilities of course ;)


    I'm just looking for some honest experiences any of you have. I'm quite tempted by the spiderbox 9000HD.


    Budget is around the ?200 mark...any thoughts?

    Just another thought, I had a similar issue a few years ago when I moved house. The problem was I didn't have a filter on an extension socket which was in the loft and had a phone attached. What the heck it was doing there I have no idea but the moral is there needs to be a filter on EVERY extension.
