- NL/BE. 'TMF (Your 90's)' is expected, details are not yet known.
It will be a FAST channel. Operator Your Music Channels Benelux is already releasing Your 60s, Your 70s, and Your 80s via Samsung TV Plus ( Marketing Report and Spreekbuis ).
The CvdM granted a license for TMF Your 90's on March 17, 2026;
- NL. TMF returned on May 7 via the Samsung TV Plus platform ( Spreekbuis ). They are using about 9,000 hours of digitized old recordings.
RTL Boulevard (RTL, April 11, 2026) also featured the return and asked the question: Restart as a FAST channel… who can find this if they have the right TV? TMF can also be seen in the 192TV app (not free).
TMF is also available for free via Rakuten TV (website and app).
Other channels such as Bright TV, Telegraaf TV, PR1DE free, and VI TV can also be watched for free via Rakuten TV ( Marketing Report ). For BE: try njam! and Studio100 Hits.
The stream URL is very long and therefore likely has a short shelf life, see Stream Rakuten TV bouquet;
- TMF main and sub-channels can therefore be viewed on Samsung TV Plus . According to the site's FAQ, the Samsung TV Plus app is also available for all mobile Samsung Galaxy devices such as smartphones and tablets. This turns out not to be the case. Customer service is unaware of this. After lengthy correspondence (by phone and WhatsApp), a link was provided to an Asian app (app not available here), and later they admitted that the app is not available for the Netherlands. Even though this had already been raised in a forum in mid-2025 . In short: the information on the website stating that it is possible is incorrect.

- Having fiber optic installed retroactively costs a lot (€600 to €1,500). But it would be wise: your home is worth 3% more with fiber. This is stated in an article by AG Connect (March 10, 2016 ). Cited by Totaal TV (April 5, 2026), the reason being that coaxial cable is labeled as outdated by real estate agents, which can significantly weaken the negotiating position during a sale ( Fiber Carrier Association, report 2025/2026 ).
But… is this correct? Because if so, it pays to check the WOZ value and, in the event of the same value as a home *with* fiber optics, file an objection with the municipality…
Therefore, this question was submitted to appraisers from a large municipality.
The response (April 10, 2026, summarized): the study is old (2011-2013), a period in which differences in internet quality between areas were significantly greater than is currently the case. Coax is considered a full-fledged alternative by the market, and the lack of fiber optics does not result in a functional limitation. Therefore, there is no objectively measurable value-reducing effect that can be attributed to the home.
If the assumed value increase of approximately 3% upon the presence of fiber optics were followed, the market value of an average home would rise by about €6,000 as soon as a fiber optic connection is installed, whereas the installation costs (post-connection) typically range between €600 and €1,500. Such a disproportionate jump in value is not realistic and is not observed in practice.

- NL. De ‘Wet versterking lokale publieke omroepen’ had 1 juli in moeten gaan. Door vertraging streeft men naar 1 november 2026 in. Hierdoor dreigen 22 lokale omroepen hun licentie kwijt te raken. Het CvdM is daarom 1 mei een korte aanwijzingsprocedure gestart waarmee de licenties zeker tot de ingangsdatum van de nieuwe wet, 1 januari 2028, blijven gelden.
Op 1 januari 2028 gaat het nieuwe lokale publieke mediabestel in. Ook dit is een streefdatum, dus niet zeker.

- NL. April 21, 1976, aspiring broadcaster VOO (Veronica) broadcast its first TV program. Fifty years of TV, then. But they would have preferred to continue making radio;
- NL, BVN and NPO 2 Extra will stop permanently at the end of this year ( TotaalTV );
- NL/OV. A regional broadcaster comprising 1Twente and Almelo1 will not materialize. Almelo1 has ceased talks. Employees have the Almelo1 website launched ( Tubantia on ). Videos can be seen YouTube .
Radio and TV do not exist (yet). They write: “The ambition to develop radio and/or TV as well does not exist at this moment. This is mainly due to the investments and structural resources required for this, which are not feasible for us at this time.”;
- NL/ZH. Local Broadcaster Landsmeer (LOL) will merge with RTV Purmerend in 2028 to form the regional broadcaster WLD ( RTV Purmerend );
- BE. On May 5, BBC First in Flanders changes to BBC Belgium (see, among others, BBC Belgium , Advanced TV , HLN , Marketing Report ). Not via satellite, but via the TV Vlaanderen app.

- DE. RTL Deutschland acquires Sky Deutschland (DACH). The European Commission granted approval. Date: 1 June 2026 ( RTL DE );
- DE. Satellite reception on holiday: The best camping antenna for motorhomes & co. Three systems (fully automatic, flat antenna or portable in a suitcase) designed and tested by Digital fernsehen ;
- PL. On April 20, Newsmax Polkska launched online, and soon with TV as well;
- RU. The Express AT2 has been moved to 56 degrees East. The satellite will partially replace the AT1 there, which failed on March 4, 2026. Transponders do not use H and V but L and R ( Lyngsat and Satkurier );
- UK. The BBC will stop broadcasting BBC Radio 4 on long wave later this year. The costs, such as infrastructure investments and licensing, are too high ( Radio Today );
- USA. Is QVC leaving? Reason: bankruptcy filing in the USA. Cause: high costs and fierce competition from Amazon, AliExpress, and Temu, among others ( Satkurier based on Bloomberg ). On April 17, it emerged that a deal had been reached with lenders and the QVC Group can continue with its channels (QVC and HSN) for the time being ( Bloomberg );
- GENERAL. Starlink's (Space-X) 'LEO fleet' will soon face competition from Amazon. Amazon plans to deploy more than 3,200 mini-satellites slightly higher in the sky to offer internet access. LEO stands for Low Earth Orbit. Amazon will be within 590-630 km. Collisions with Starlink are conceivable. Increased competition has already led Starlink to lower its prices. Please note: there are different subscription plans. ' Residential ' can only be used in the country of order. ' Roaming ' can also be used outside of that country.

Astra 23.5 East
- Duck TV off satellite (11934 V), for Canal Digitaal, TV Vlaanderen and Skylink. Viewers will have to use the app;
- 12110 H: Channel 1, Slovakia, gone. STORY4 from HD to SD, Skylink, code. All this has to do with cutbacks at Skylink. And there is more to come, such as cooperation with Telekom Sbrija (Serbia). Sharing of transponders, according to an article on Satkurier and SatelitnáTV ;
- Two more broadcasters switched from HD to SD: Premium HD (now Premium) and Family HD (now JOJ Family), Skylink, code ( Satellite TV );

Astra 19.2 East
- DFB.TV FREE launched on 11954 H fta with a test channel in SD.
The DFB main channel launches on May 22 in HD on 1112 H, code, as part of HD+ (€ 55 extra per year).

- The ARD broadcasters will remain available via Astra 19.2 East until at least 2039. The contract with SES has been extended ( Digital Fernsehen and Kreisbote );
- 123 Live, teleshop DE, will discontinue the SD version on 12460 H on July 1. The HD version is already available on 10803 H ( 123 Live );
- Name change ARD radio on 11053 H. SWR4 BW is now called SWR4 S (SID 10444) and SWR4 RP is now called SWR4 MZ (SID 10445), fta;
- Genius Family, teleshopping DE, stopped on 11836 H. Only three broadcasters remain on that transponder: Dokusat and volksmusik.tv (both with a lot of teleshopping) and Astra Demo. This transponder will probably be phased out soon…;
- Nine broadcasters added across three transponders by Astra HD+ Spain ( Boobles ), code.
A new transponder has also been put into use: 10729 V (S2, 23500, ¾, 8PSDK). The eleven broadcasters are encrypted. Copy of 11406 V;
- The position 19.2 East, which is important for Europe, is currently served by only two modern satellites: Astra 1N and 1P. The older ones ( 1KR , 1L , and 1M ) have been/are being moved ( Parabola );
- TVRI World, Indonesia, has been discontinued (12515 H). Still available on Eutelsat 9 East, 11977 H, fta;
- Advance notice: May 19 name change: Sky Cinema Highlights becomes Sky Cinema Blockbuster (biggest movie hits, award-winning films) and Sky Cinema Family becomes Sky Cinema Feelgood (romance, family, drama, animation), code ( Satkurier ).
Astra 28 East
- At the request of a user, a category has been created in the England bouquet for Sky UK broadcasters operating via Nd stream relay (also known as CSA encoding, see OpenPLi forum ). Also added to the Ireland bouquet.

Note: in the Germany bouquet (Astra 19.2 East) this had already been done for Sky DE after the marker '++Sky Deutschland stream relay++;
- Since April 22, That's TV 3 has been called: Thats20Century, fta. Featuring music, series, and documentaries from the last century;

Hotbird 13 East
- Bloomberg TV HD came fta on 11373 H;
- There was temporarily no programming on transponder 12399 H. The broadcasters had already been transferred to other transponders. The programming was in Arabic, like that of Canal+ Poland.
On April 8, four TV and one radio broadcaster (Arabic language) returned: Al Masriyia (Egypt), Dubai TV HD (UAE/UAE), Oman TV HD , Sudan TV , and Noor Dubai Radio followed later . . Jordan HD , Libya AlWatanieh, and Kuwait 1 HD
Several missing radio stations returned on April 11: Jordan R1, Kuwait Radio 1, Kuwait Holy Quran, Oman General Radio R1, Oman English Radio R2, Oman Shabab Radio R3, and Oman Holy Quran. On April 13, the remaining ESC1, 2, and 3 radio stations returned.
All broadcasters are listed FTA in the Arabic TV and radio bouquet.

- Euronews English appeared FTA in HD on 12520 V. Also on 11566 H, an iKOMG transponder. The contract with Globecast (11556 H) may be terminated;

- BogBlagTV is offline, but SID is still there. Will it come back?;

The Europa B-beam provides a strong signal from the transponders: 11285 V (including Project Leon) and 11410 V (including IRNR).
Possible cause: two satellites on 7 East is too much. The older 7B is redundant and may be relocated. The new 7C will take over everything. Broadcasters will also be moved to Hotbird: for Eutelsat, the most important satellite for Europe and the MENA (Middle East + North Africa) region. The Ka-bands (SCPC) of the 7A are going to Eutelsat 16A at 16 East (see Satkurier ).
Intelsat 17 and 38
A satellite to keep an eye on is Intelsat 38 (45 East).
