It's just really strange, on the old CRT TV the picture is great via SCART. On the new Flat screen I get nothing with HDMI and via SCART I get a picture but with a green colour. I have tried different cables, I think the only other test I can do is try a different TV, but I know my *** box and PS3 work fine on that TV.

When it boots on the new TV via SCART I get the proper loading screen from VIX in full colour, then as it loads, It flicks to the green picture and then finishes loading. It's like it loads something that affects the image, but again absolutley nothing via HDMI.

With HDMI, the receiver has to with the TV handshake for HDMI to work. I sometimes have to switch my TV off/on to make it handshake with my DUO, when I move from scart to HDMI through the amp.

You could always put it on a Laptop pad that has fans. Although if it runs with all the tuners working after a few hours, and it does not get any hotter it must be dissipating the heat ok.

The problem with backing up to a USB only is, that too many boxes are fussy about the USB.

The saying two wrongs don't make a right come to mind.

As Pheonix said, rather than ranting, it is better to use forums such as this to ask for support, as the manufacturers and vendors won't be able to assist if the problem is software related, which is probably the case with your issue. I wouldn't completely agree with nano about voiding the warranty, as most reputable vendors would honour a warranty if the issue was related to hardware regardless of whether you have flashed it or not, but you should give us the opportunity to try to help you with your problem, because it is because of difficulties people have that have caused forums such as this to spring up in the first place.

Having played with the Gigablue Quad the last few days, all I will say that they should never have sold a box with so many software bugs.

I have put on vix 2.1 a few weeks ago. There are a few niggles, but nothing serious. One being the audio, on films I have it AC3 through the AV amp, but watching the news I have the stero sound through the TV . On some channels you have to set the sound when changing; something my previous Images did automatically. I do like the backup of a full image to HD or USB, which backs up everything, and I have tried it on HD. Also the EPG is very good, and the menu's well thought out. One work round if you don't have a AC3 system, is put the AC3 downmix to on.
