Hey so have been looking around the net there the past few weeks for a wi-fi bridge..

Cheapest i've seen is ?21 from China, think i'd pay the extra ?5 - 10 for it to come from the U.K.!

But i was thinking is there other ways of making my receiver wireless?

    I know about homeplugs already...

    Cheers for any info!

    Joe!

    Stupid Q first!

Have you your box connected to the net with an ethernet lead/wi-fi bridge?

(Had to ask but i know well you do!)

The more obvious solution is that the kind fellow who gave you the cline, his server could be offline!

If your sure it is correctly entered, that could be the answer!

Well if you have sky uk you can share it straight away!

    What reciever do you have?

A virtual server is where your sharing without a local...

Like the guys in the "free exchange" section..

A cheap card is like Sct or al jazeera sport...

Porn cards can be got for ?50...

Al jaz sport at around ?110...

Ya well i think its grand for the money! Could go much dearer... Others might have another opinion!

    What do ye think lads??

Ya a pole set in concrete is the usual job...

I have a U bracket on the wall which i made myself out of pipe and its a great job!

But i haven't seen them being sold anywhere..

And the pole set in concrete would give you easy access to set it up as you say!

Its great fun trust me ;)

No credit taken! Thanks again Billybits!

"Attached is my latest SpiderboxHD channel list for the 3nd February 2011.

It has all popular satellites from 45E to 45W that I can receive from my location in the North West of England.
The "FREESAT UK" FAV is very family friendly with sections for "FILMS" & "KIDS", "NEWS", "MUSIC", "INTERESTS", "SHOPPING" & "REGIONAL" for those who's families use the Spiderbox
Also separate satellites from 58E to 61W for any feed, temporary and work in progress channels - Use these satellites for any experimenting you want to do before adding to your main satellites.

All Satellites, Transponders and Channels are in chronological order for ease of editing.
All "FAV"s are populated with clearing channels including Service+, NuevoXstream, UCAS, Patched Via3 and past opening channels in case they return.
You can easily delete those you do not want/can not receive or add any of your prefered channels.

The "read me" in the archive gives information of all the extras that this channel list has and how to easily adapt the list to your needs.
Please read it as it has a lot of information on editing the list.

This is a full channel list - just remove the satellite/channels that you do not want.
    Channels: 7692 of a maximum 9800
    TPs: 1286 of a maximum 3500
FAVs: All 8 used - FREESAT UK, SPORTS, FILMS, KIDS/MUSIC, NEWS/FACTUAL, GENERAL, HD/3D, ADULT,

The Channel List is for either USALS or DiSEqC setups - I use this list for both without any issues.

If using USALS make sure you check/input your Latitude & Longitude after loading.
If using Diseqc switch to "Motor (DiSEqC 1.2)" in Motor Setup - Motor Type and if using one of my lists for the first time you will need to manually locate each satellite and then store in a unique position.
The List has Satellites from 45E DiSEqC "SAT Position (POS=1)" through to 45W DiSEqC "SAT Position (POS=35)"
Any future channel lists of mine will have the same SAT Position numbers so DiSEqC users will not need to locate and store each sat position again.

The main updates from the last list are:
    7W Channels added
0.8W All TV2 PL TP moves
    7E DigiTurk
    10E Magic's Channel Fixes
    16E Tring Changes
28.2E All Regional Channels are in the "FREESAT UK" FAV at the end. This Makes it easier for you to change to your own region.
Lots of channels/TPs on all other satellites"

The mount on that link looks dodge...

You need a good solid mount as the wind will play havoc otherwise!

I'd defo suggest a motorized system too!

Its great and for the couple of seconds to move sat is worth it...

I think the guys were on about "inverto utra 0.1 lnbs" not so long ago as being one of the best on the market...

Have never bought from there but they look like the same as all the other chinese wholesalers...

You could get screwed for delivery and get caught for customs by the way!

Another note the dm500s advertised are the old model not the 2011 one..

Have seen a 2 x 1 piece of timber reinforcing the arm before!

    Wedged in on top...

Made in stronger i suppose but looked like a cowboy job to a normal person i'd say!...

    I like shams idea...

Tension some metal wire maybe onto the side of the dish or something from the front of the holder from the lnb, i.e. home version of a primefocus dish...

    Just a thought!

Messed with the idea below ;)

Always seem to park it faced edge first into the winds from the west which should help lessen the wind loading when i'm at home!

God help it tonight! Prob be found in the field next door!

oh right! Dont think i can get a sniff with my 80cm...

    Wow!...

You'd be better off buying that in July/August before the start of the season i suppose??
