Any ideas if this is showing in HD with English commentary anywhere?

It can be done with an app called dreamstreamoid. You need to use your pc as a vlc server which will transcode the stream and open 3 ports on your router. Full instructions are on the app developers website. I have currently got this working so it can definitely be done.

Hi M8 turned Wi-Fi off on my HTC Desire HD it let me change channels but no picture or sound the App I downloaded was VU+ Player
cheers Chris
Unless you can upload at 6-7mbps this won't work as you are trying to stream the picture at the full bandwidth and even then your download speed may not be enough. You need to transcode the stream to make it something that can stream over the web. The guide is here in this thread somewhere

No my router is a D-link 615 I think I have set it up ok now, is their a way I can test it from my home?
Yes in the UK
Switch off your Wi-Fi on your phone and stream over 3g. This is the way I tested mine out

You'll need a dynamic dns and to forward ports on your router this will allow you to control your box through the web interface. However I'm not sure how to access the file system remotely. There is an android app called es file explorer that may work but never tried to access from outside my home network with it.
I think it's more to do with the hardware of the tablet rather finding a fix. HD channels will stream but most things I've tried won't play them

Most devices aren't capable of streaming hd channels this includes my 4th generation iPad and my Samsung galaxy s3. I think it's something to do with hardware decoding of the tablet. What tablet are you using?
I was having the exact same problem with vu+ player and my solo2 running vix 3.0 632. It would say cannot connect, but it actually would connect.
Maybe an idea to try install the older version of openWebif?
bokkie I rolled back to build 627 and it had been working perfectly for 2 days

Confirmed just flashed 627 and it's all working perfectly again. No error messages.

I think there have been changes to open webif. I noticed when I updated to openvix 3.0.632 every app I tried (xbmc, dream droid, vu+ player) all failed to connect. I rolled back to 3.0.629 and all is fine.

That would make sense because it was perfect before I even had the dynamic dns set up to set recordings etc remotely. I think I'll try going back to 627 and trying again

Something very weird here. Dreamdroid will now show the bouquets and stream but in the bottom right hand corner it says 'connection error' but it's obviously connected

Ok reset all the settings and reset the router I can now get into the receiver with the app but I still get the message cannot connect etc although it then gives me the bouquets and will stream. Strange thing is it doesn't always work very weird
However if you are also receiving the same message I know I'm not alone. The other thing is it's not showing the channel that is currently being viewed like it used to

Dreamdroid exactly the same mate. I just get connection error as if it can't talk to my receiver. Pulling my hair out because I can connect perfectly through a webpage. I even reflashed the latest vix image but it's made no difference

Yes sorry I'm using vix.It worked with build 600 I'm now on 632 I did do a restore to 600 but it's made no difference I'm not even sure it's related but I've tried everything I can think of

I've been using vu player for a while now and it's been great until the last couple of days I keep getting the message 'unable to connect to your receiver'. I can connect no problem through internet explorer on my phone and pc but every android app I've tried won't access my box. I've checked the ip the port numbers and the passwords all are correct but no success. My Mrs had the same app on her phone and hers stopped working too so I'm assuming the problem is with the duo rather than the app or phones. I'm wondering if one of the updates could of affected something? Any ideas anyone?

Managed to get this working using my pc to transcode the stream. Working on 3g and Wi-Fi away from home. :) results are very stable and picture quality is acceptable. You can adjust quality but I think it depends how good your upload is.

Yes I read that. I may try and set my pc up as a vlc server and see if I can get that working. It's all good fun having a play around :D

Has anybody found a guide to transcode the stream? I have set up the dns and port forwarding in my router and I can connect to my box no problem but I just don't have the bandwidth to stream a picture. Does anybody know if there is a guide or a plug in to do this?

It wouldn't initialize but I manage to format it through vu control centre and reflashed the image just in case, remounted the drive all is working.:thumbup:
