    Thanks Nano,
    have sent you a pm

Carmine ive never seen a difference ever and I did installs for a good while , its like when you paid a fortune for oxygen free scart leads for crt tvs i never saw anything there it might be possible that it makes an odds with super hd but we havent got there yet , i think itll be the feel good factor knowing you paid a fortune for a lead and convincing yourself its better , nano might be able to elaborate more as he is more in the know with installs these days

    Hi stevejo,
i`ve been reading about on g**gle and found a site or two that say exactly what you say no difference at all only worth spending a bit more if you need over 1 or 2 metres...

I have new tv and want to know your guys experiences when you have bought new tv and connected to you stb etc, I know the scart lead will soon be a thing of the past and have had hdmi lead for connection from older tv to stb, older tv was plasma and new tv is LED I used and am still using a cheap hdmi i think i even found one a certain pound shop lol.

I`m asking this is there any difference in cheap hdmi lead compared to these that they offer you when your buying a tv at C**ys etc ie the silver or gold HDMI leads would it really make that much difference using cheap HDMI conpared to more expensive ones available and if so can you guys let me know what you use or recommend ??

    Thanks

well said meerkat i dont believe photos anyone can do that want real proof lol

After 40 years, yes a new aerial and cable is advisable. You may not need a booster, too much signal can cause problems.
How many TV's are you running off 1 aerial?
Bear in mind, Since switchover DTT signal strengths have been drastically increased, you can quite easily run 4 tv' off 1 aerial and a good 4 way splitter.

    Sent by pressing buttons.

I need to feed 3 more tvs

Yes i would agree that a new aerial is in order thats for sure..it will be a wideband aerial you are after which most are now.

Is your cabling also 40 years old or has that been replaced at some point..have a look at your signal strength and see what that says.

    Hiya,

i have checked signal strength of what i can get ie sd channels and between 8-10 out of ten not enough though i guess for hd channels on freeview ??

Evening all, I have a new tv with Freeview HD tuner ( yes i know at last lol ) anyway have it all set up with my vu duo + stb and i know i can get channels ie BBC 1 HD 2HD 3HD 4HD and ITV 1 HD, etc through my stb but as tv has built in freeview hd tuner i did full tune up on tv and all i get is normal sd channels no freeview hd channels ???

I know my aerial is about 40 years old i know im not even kidding this must the reason why im not getting channels dont you think ??
Thinking i may go to my local screwf*x store and get a new digital aerial do we all agree lol ??

    Thanks
    carmine
