i recently installed and set up ubuntu server, using the automatic oscam install. all is working ok.
but i keep seeing on the forum that there are oscam file updates. so the question is,
is it advantagous to update the oscam file from the original with the auto install.
and second how to update: which folder etc. to place the new file.
any help appreciated. -
yes thanks for reply, i have installed wine, but i then get the message "permission denied"
-
put a cccam file onto a usb stick. put into the openbox and select upgrade by usb from the main menu

should I be able to run dreamup, dreambox edit etc. from a pc with ubuntu installed?

Not a problem with your VU. I have just tried scanning that frequency also with me DM800.
no services found. -
Has anyone tried with S9 yet and does still support NDS card??
-
Just wondering Predator, did you get this sorted?? i am interested in the answer also.

when i tried to connect from my desktop to the ubuntu laptop to look at the oscam log, i could not connect. rather strangely, i could not connect to the net either. i had to change my static ip back to dhcp and reboot. when i rebooted all worked ok then. i have now changed back to the static ip address and hope all remains ok.
i thank you both for you help. -
when trying to connect with oscam i put a # in front of the card reader info in the cccam folder

thanks for reply master G. I have changed to test1 test2 in the N line but still not working. wonder if you can see anything else.
if i disable the N line and config. the cccam file for the smargo then that works ok. so i know that side of things is ok. must be something to do with the oscam files.

thanks for advice Ten Below, used tunnelier and worked ok.

I am using winscp but i will try the one you suggest.
but i also try copying the files from a usb stick direct into the usr/local/etc folder.
when i copied the cccam file that overwrite no problem. when i try to copy the oscam files, cant do, but i look at the
properties and the permissions etc appear the same for cccam as well as oscam. -
thanks for reply, tried this but still cannot overwrite or delete original oscam files.
any other ideas please? -
Hi some help required please:

Hi, just installed ok. can anyone tell me in which folder i find the oscam config/user files.
cant seem to find them. -
think i must be missing something here.
you cannot click on change password or anything else until you press connect.
if the log in is incorrect, which it will be if you dont know the password, then you cannot click on change password. -
you got this to work kaza8 ??? how did you log in if you didnt know the password??
