    i see this on alot of new guides about opensc

    why do u need to install opensc for the omnikey?

    its never been needed before

    I dont quite understand the need for it either... and the crashes that someone refered to earlier in the thread still happens under debian as well. I've tested on Both Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and 12.04 so I elaborated a script instead to check for the errors and restart pcsc whenever its detected on the oscam.log.

    Really that is interesting can you recommend a shipper i would be intersted in getting one, a little off topic i can get adsports on my duo with my 1.8 channel master here in the South West but it disappears in the rain

    thats interesting... what sort of signal levels do you get? might be worth investing in a 2.40cm after all, I was always told that I'd need a 3M for good signal in all weather.

    good quality 2.4 meter dish here in spain about 850 euros including stand and lnb. as many expats have returned to the uk and the security of the benifit system there are now quite a few secondhand 2.4 dishes around, usually €250 - €350. all you have to do is get it back to the uk.

    only problem with that is with a 2.40cm if it rains you lose signal unfortunately, Ideally you want a 3Metre one, but its way too much money for a lump of metal lol.

    dish that size? if you look at the at the top of it and the *** dish at the front of the house they look roughly to be pointing in the same directions so I assume it must be for adsports! in london area you can pick it up with a 2.40cm/3m prime focus dish.

    hey guys,

    Im having a few issues with my ubuntu server running OSCam;

    My setup is as follows, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32bit, OSCam 1.10 Stable and CSP... Cardreaders: 3 X Omikey 3121 USB with Rom 142 ZON TVCabo. (I have also tested other versions of OSCam)

    sometimes the server runs smoothly for days on end without a problem and then randomly sometimes ever day or every couple of days the cardreaders appear as "OFF" in the oscam webinterface, sometimes just the 1 reader and other time 2 or even all of them appear as "OFF" rebooting oscam doesnt seem to fix the problem, I have to physically disconnect and reconnect the USB cardreaders to get them going again or even sometimes in worse case scenarios I have to reboot the whole computer to get it going again...

    Ive had a look around and haven't really found a lot of information on this issue... other than that the problem is likely to be "pcscd" installed on the ubuntu. I have looked through the logs and have found this error;

    Mar 19 20 : 06 : 36 ubuntu-laptop pcscd: eventhandler.c:333:EHStatusHandlerThread() Error communicating to: OmniKey CardMan 3121 00 00
    Mar 19 20 : 06 : 41 ubuntu-laptop pcscd: ccid_usb.c:596:WriteUSB() usb_bulk_write(007/005): Resource temporarily unavailable
    Mar 19 20 : 06 : 41 ubuntu-laptop pcscd: ifdwrapper.c:469:IFDStatusICC() Card not transacted: 612

    At the moment only 1 reader is appearing as "OFF" the other 2 are still working...

    does anyone know how to fix this problem? :haha:

    Thanks guys

    hello mate thanks for the reply.

    Im going to use 3 different TV cabo cards (rom142 N3). The configs I already have to read the card and get it working and link to cccam, i just need help in running 2 more instances of oscam with another 2 cards. just a thought... is there a way in oscam where i can define different newcamd ports to different readers (cards)?
